Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the Mercy of God,

Byzantine Catholic Prayer for the Deceased​

O Lord, grant rest to the souls of Your departed servants in a place of light, a place of green pasture, a place of refreshment, where all pain, sorrow, and sighs have fled away. As a good God Who loves humankind, forgive every sin committed by them, in word, deed, or thought, for there is no person who lives and does not sin. For You are without sin, Your righteousness is everlasting, and Your Word is truth. Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

God our Father,
Your power brings us to birth; Your providence
guides our lives; and by Your command we return
to dust. Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end. I pray in hope for
my family, relatives, and friends, and for all the dead

In company with Christ, Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom, where all our tears
are wiped away. Unite us together again in one family,

Father have mercy on those who have passed and allow them to be cleansed and enter you kingdom of heaven to serve you forever. I ask this in your name, Jesus amen!
