For the folks and cats at our local rescue

So, over the summer I volunteered for a cat rescue. I am still on their email list and I have seen both good and bad news. We had a lot of our older cats adopted, even one who was very unfriendly, but, has since opened up to people. Bad new is that K, a volunteer who is dedicated to his church and the rescue, lost his mother last week. I regret that I did not ask for prayers sooner. Just pray for the repose of her soul and for him and his family.

Also, three of the cats have some stomach illness. One, named Cutie, has bloody stool. Pray that they make a full recovery and can be adopted out.

I’m so sorry to hear about K’s Mom.

May her soul rest in peace, and may God comfort Him during this sad and difficult time.

I’m sorry to hear about these ill kitties too, and I pray that they get better.

One of the cats we had trouble adopting out was returned this weekend. Her backstory is is that she was the only pet that was introduced to a family with kids. She liked the older kids, but, when the family had a baby, she hated the baby and the rivalry continued 3 years until the family decided to give her up. She was for a long time very bitter and nasty and only recently let people pet her. She was adopted a few weeks ago by a lady who had no kids or other pets, so, we thought that we’ve found the perfect place for her. The lady returned her this weekend saying that the cat was mean to extended family. I really feel sorry for this cat. I would take her if I could.

I wish people wouldn’t look at pets as disposable items. They are God’s creatures with feelings and we need to remember that. Poor kitty! 😦

I know, right? We have one adult that is still there that has been adopted and reuturned three times, twice by the same family. One cat that has thankfully been adopted for good was once adopted and returned within 24 hours because a father and kids were at the pet store, kids begged for a cat, dad took the cat and they met up with the mother in the parking lot and was all like, “Hey honey, we have a cat now.” The store employees heard the susquent argument in the parking lot before the cat was returned. The next day, I was ceaning his apartment and he had diarrhea no doubt from the stress of finding and losing a home in one day. I swear, its like those people who buy their kids rabbits for Easter and return them en masse by June and are the reason why you cannot find bunnies in a lot of pet stores anymore
