Women are more motivated and desirous of sex during ovulation and around that time things are passionate and exciting. During the “dry” phase it’s the opposite. This is the most disinterested period for women sexually.

I was on the pill before I switched to NFP for health and moral reasons and I had NO sex drive. Obviously, as you stated above, a woman gets “in the mood” around the time of ovulation. The pill=no ovulation therefore no sex drive. So how on earth did I ever have sex? Well ,for me, sex is more a state of mind than hormones. But boy once I got off the pill did those hormones hit me full force, lol.**
So, even if your wife were not in her current state (and I definitely pray for ya! Best of luck with such a difficult time!),
**thank you for your prayers **
NFP definitely does not boost the sexiness, spontanaity, fun, or friskiness of a marriage’s sex life.

You can amend that to YOUR sex life. It’s not like that for everyone. Like I stated before, we actually started having sex MORE with NFP. Go figure…**
It is robotic, planned, pallid, mediocre, contrived, and downright weird in my opinion.
** Thankfully you added the “in my opinion”. And I’m sorry that NFP is so terrible for you. That must be tough.**
If your biggest complaint is lack of spontaneity, what of planned romantic weekends etc? Are those boring too? **To me it can be nice to have something to look forward to…
