Respecting differences
Loving God, let no one retain prejudice against male or female, because You made us men and women with complementary gifts. Where other preferences prevail, grant that no one will condemn or ridicule, yet please effect whatever change and adjustments can align individuals with Your creative purpose. Let Your grace heal those who are confused or misled. Let fairness, generosity, sensitivity, and respect be given to the identities, rights, gifts, and needs of each person, male and female.
Allow no forced “equality” that denies the special complementary nature and function of male and female, remembering always that man and woman are equally sacred to Christ! Let woman blossom in Christ as human person, as woman, mother, daughter, and sister, fragrant with Mary’s loveliness. Let man, gentle as Mary, stand forth as human being, as father, son, and brother, strong in Christ.
Restore our understanding of the purpose of creation of man and woman to overcome abuses and attitudes socially prevalent. Let our true nature shine with reverence, goodness and purity. Lead humankind to value each person, unborn to aged, with this wholeness of vision and relationship. I ask all citizens of Heaven to intercede for us continually for all these graces.
