I’m going to ask a friend, but it puts my in a bind because I want them to be able to think about it and not feel rushed into doing it and not take it seriously.

And that’s the main reason to not go back and ask your brother. You’re in a position where you have to ask someone else, it seems to me.

Agree with this. TNman perhaps I wouldn’t take it personally. I can see how you would feel rushed.
Do you have a close friend in your congregation you could ask?
