Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.

Father Lord God of all creation, we continually lift up all who suffer mentally this day.
Loving God,

Please hear the persistent prayers and petitions of your loving children in this intention. Please bless and have mercy on all your people suffering from all sorts of mental diseases, and especially depression, panic/anxiety attacks, Alzheimers, and related maladies. Dear God, your suffering people are often discriminated against and bear a special cross when they suffer from these challenges in their lives. Please help them not to lose hope, to maintain a strong faith, to follow the remedies and improvement strategies of their medical care givers, and cure them if it be your Holy will. Please bless all who minister to these folks, especially close family and the medical care givers that we might help these special people to prosper and live out their calling with joy and peace.

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, with whom you are well pleased.

Amen.

Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy Will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.

St. Dymphna, pray for us. St. Therese, pray for us.

Father, in Jesus’ name, where it is possible, please protect those who may be prone to mental illness or emotional fragility, from triggers that exacerbate their tendencies to anxiety, stress, and depression. Where possible, please help them to develop strategies that promote their peace and wholeness.

Father, in Jesus’ name, please give diagnosis, treatment, and the understanding of other, to those who suffer from mental and emotional illnesses. Please lead these sufferers to optimum heath and to peaceful and fulfilled lives lived in love and faith, and the understanding of family, friends, and colleagues.

Blessed Louis Martin, father of St Therese, who despite the holiness and charity that characterised your life, ended your life with loss of your mental faculties, please pray for all who suffer mental and emotional illnesses.

Prayer When Your Are Depressed
By: Dr. Walter L. Weston

God, life seems so bleak and useless right now. I don’t have any energy. I have no ambition to do much of anything. I am really feeling down. I feel “down on” myself and “down on” everyone around me. Even as I pray, I don’t sense your presence. I am going through the motions, knowing that you are still with me.

I know that I am sacred and precious but they are just words right now. I know that my life has been worthwhile, full of many wonderful people and experiences, much happiness and joy. I feel little of this right now. God, all I can do is affirm the goodness of life and try to hold on until the darkness is replaced by your light and love.

Help me to spot the lies that my depressed emotions are telling me. Life is good. I am good. You are good. Grant me hope. My loved ones love me. Life will be beautiful again. Soon, I will see the beauty around me again. Soon, I will again know vitality and purpose, happiness and love. Until then, give me the strength and hope to survive this day.

Help me to smile and laugh, even if just for a moment. Be my strength and salvation. I ask you to restore me and make me whole. Fill me with the Word and the Spirit that I might be recreated anew. I praise and thank you. Amen.

Lord, our God, you graciously chose St. Dymphna as patroness of those afflicted with mental and nervous disorders. She is thus an inspiration and a symbol of charity to the thousands who ask her intercession.

Please grant, Lord, through the prayers of this pure youthful martyr, relief and consolation to all suffering such trials.

We beg you, Lord, to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna on our behalf. Grant all those for whom we pray patience in their sufferings and resignation to your divine will. Please fill them with hope, and grant them the relief and cure they so much desire.

We ask this through Christ our Lord who suffered agony in the garden. Amen.

Thankyou for starting this thread. I’ve been suffering from schizophrenia for 10 years now but it was only a few months ago that I’ve been diagnosed. It’s difficult and I truly am yearning to live a normal life. Please pray for my complete and speedy recovery. I’ve been praying the rosary almost everyday, but sometimes I don’t know if my own prayers are effective. Again, thankyou so much for starting this.
