Loving God,

Please hear the persistent prayers and petitions of your loving children in this intention. Please bless and have mercy on all your people suffering from all sorts of mental diseases, and especially depression, panic/anxiety attacks, Alzheimers, and related maladies. Dear God, your suffering people are often discriminated against and bear a special cross when they suffer from these challenges in their lives. Please help them not to lose hope, to maintain a strong faith, to follow the remedies and improvement strategies of their medical care givers, and cure them if it be your Holy will. Please bless all who minister to these folks, especially close family and the medical care givers that we might help these special people to prosper and live out their calling with joy and peace.

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, with whom you are well pleased.

Amen.

Father, in Jesus’ name, where it is possible, please protect those who may be prone to mental illness or emotional fragility, from triggers that exacerbate their tendencies to anxiety, stress, and depression. Where possible, please help them to develop strategies that promote their peace and wholeness.

Father, in Jesus’ name, please give diagnosis, treatment, and the understanding of other people, for those who suffer from mental and emotional illnesses. Please help those who are prone to disordered thoughts, perceptions, and emotions, or excessive scrupulosity.

Please lead these sufferers to optimum health and to peaceful and fulfilled lives lived in love and faith, and the understanding of family, friends, and colleagues.

Please give courage and refreshment to those who care for mentally impaired patients and loved ones. Please surround them with Your light and love.

Blessed Louis Martin, father of St Therese, who despite the holiness and charity that characterised your life, ended your life with loss of your mental faculties, please pray for all who suffer mental and emotional illnesses.

Mother Mary, and their patron saints and guardian angels, please pray for them.

Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy Will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.

Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

St. Dymphna, pray for us. St. Therese, pray for us.

Hail Mary full of grace

blessed are you among women
and blessed is the fruit
of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, mother of God
pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death.

Thank you for taking the time to pray for those afflicted by mental and emotional conditions. I too am amongst the millions who suffer from depression. I struggle greatly to understand and pursue my true vocation due to this suffering and take medication which has helped to end panic attacks and ease anxiety. The depression remains a problem.

“Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of battle, be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil; may God rebuke him we humbly pray and do thou, oh Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.”

I quite literally stumbled on this beautiful thread. I want to thank all three of you ladies for your inspiring prayerful invocations seeking help (“For the Mentally and Emotionally ill”). Actually; I am writing here humbled asking for prayers myself. You see I suffer from Gang-Rape related Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder as a result of being a heterosexual male gang-raped tortured and beaten at gunpoint by two men and one woman in the past…
It’s an embarrassing affliction which regrettably at times gets the better of me. Most people who have never been raped even in their genuine sincerity only understand rape affliction superficially. Read: centurionguard57.blogspot.com/2008/10/psychological-torture-of-rape.html. Anyways; without going into a long winded discussion, Please Pray For Me. I in turn will say a rosary for you also.
Respectfully
Yours In Christ
Chris
May God grant you peace of mind, freedom from anxiety and fear and that you understand that God and the rest of us at CAF care for and love you. And are praying for you.
