Father, in Jesus’ name, where it is possible, please protect those who may be prone to mental illness or emotional fragility, from triggers that exacerbate their tendencies to anxiety, stress, and depression. Where possible, please help them to develop strategies that promote their peace and wholeness.

Please lead these sufferers to optimum health and to peaceful and fulfilled lives lived in love and faith, and the understanding of family, friends, and colleagues.
Father, in Jesus’ name, please give diagnosis, treatment, and the understanding of other people, for those who suffer from mental and emotional illnesses.

How distressing it must be to find your own brain compromising and attacking your well being, as in illnesses like schizophrenia, manic depression and bi-polar disturbances, panic attacks, and compulsive disorders. How dreadful also to contemplate the loss of yourself to your own self and to your loved ones in Alzheimers, and dementia. Please give Your tender love to those who are losing their faculties, and please heal their relatives and carers of the emotional and mental stress they experience in beholding their mental and emotional deterioration.

Please help those who are prone to disordered thoughts, perceptions, and emotions, or excessive scrupulosity to find balance and peace.

Please have those who have learning and developmental issues and even different thought patterns, as occurs in ADHD related conditions and Aspergers syndrome. Please help those who suffer from autism, and their families. Please help them to receive the teaching and care that will help them better cope with the challenges of their lives and to move towards a happy and fulfulling future.

Please also have compassion on those whose poor self-esteem cripples their lives, and help them to grow into the persons whom You create them to be.
Please give healing and quality of life to those whose minds and bodies have been damaged through accident or illness.
Please give healing and the ability to cope to those who have damaged their minds orotions through drugs and alcohol use or addiction.

Please enlighten and heal those whose mental states and ill health cause them to attack and judge others and to project their own ill-will or failings onto others and thus are less likely to seek healing themselves. Please heal and enlighten them.
Please heal those who have compromised their mental states and spirits by their dealings in the occult, and free them of all harmful influences in their lives and protect those with whom they interact from the disturbing effects of their former activities.

Please give courage and refreshment to those who care for emotionally unsteady or mentally challenged patients and loved ones. Please surround them with Your light and love.

Mother Mary, St Michael and their patron saints and guardian angels, please pray for them. Blessed Louis Martin, father of St Therese, who despite the holiness and charity that characterised your life, ended your life with loss of your mental faculties, please pray for all who suffer mental and emotional illnesses.
Amen

Our Father,
Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy Will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

St. Dymphna, pray for us. St. Therese, pray for us. Blessed Louis Martin, pray for us.

Lord Jesus Christ, You have willed that St. Dymphna should be invoked by thousands of clients as the patroness of nervous and mental disease and have brought it about that her interest in these patients should be an inspiration to and an ideal of charity throughout the world. Grant that, through the prayers of this youthful martyr of purity, those who suffer from nervous and mental illness everywhere on earth may be helped and consoled. .

Be pleased to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna and of Your Blessed Mother. Give those whom I recommend the patience to bear with their affliction and resignation to do Your divine will. Give them the consolation they need and especially the cure they so much desire, if it be Your will. Through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

God, speaking as a mentally ill person carrying the cross of OCD, a best friend of one carrying the cross of depression, a niece of one with schizophrenia, a daughter of one with depression, and a daughter of one with ADD, I ask You to please send Your Holy Spirit down on all of us struggling with mental and emotional illnesses and shower us with Your love, that which surpasses all human understanding. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit; please adorn our walls with joy, peace, good health, fair and rational perception, and patience with others as well as ourselves as we battle difficulties with these problems. You never give us more than we can handle; please help us to see the benefits of these battles as we learn to bear them more efficiently.

Loving God,

Please hear the persistent prayers and petitions of your loving children in this intention. Please bless and have mercy on all your people suffering from all sorts of mental diseases, and especially depression, panic/anxiety attacks, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ocd, Alzheimers, and related maladies. Please help them not to lose hope, to maintain a strong faith, to follow the remedies and improvement strategies of their medical care givers, and cure them if it be your Holy will. Please bless all who minister to these folks, especially close family and the medical care givers that we might help these special people to prosper and live out their calling with joy and peace.

I pray especially for melissa1980’s son and father, for Dean, for Georgia, for Holly 3278, and for three of my family members.

We pray in the name of your beloved son Jesus, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.

Amen.

Loving God our Father,

Please hear the persistent prayers and petitions of your loving children in this intention. Please bless and have mercy on all your people suffering from all sorts of mental diseases, and especially depression, panic/anxiety attacks, bipolar disorder, Alzheimers, schizophrenia, ocd, and related maladies. Dear God, your suffering people are often discriminated against and bear a special cross when they suffer and anguish from these challenges in their lives. Please help them not to lose hope, to maintain a strong faith, to follow obediently the remedies and improvement strategies of their medical care givers, and cure them if it be your Holy will. Please bless all who minister to these folks, especially close family and the medical care givers that we might help these special people to prosper and live out their calling with joy and peace. Please also protect and hold those of us close who are tempted to despair that we may not despair; rather, that we will look always to you for strength and comfort as we strive to give of ourselves to those who are so dear to us. And Father, forgive me when I am so stricken with grief over what seems an irretrievable loss of the beautiful personality of my son, when I know you hold his care in your grasp as a child precious to you.

I pray especially for Jhash1’s family members, for Georgia, for Dean, for my son who is having such a difficult time in the torment of his issues despite his faithful pursuit of the medical care extended to him, for my father who struggles in the grip of alzheimers, for S_V7 whose concerns are known to you, for Holly3278 whose concerns are known to you, for onwillowbay whose concerns are known to you, and for Trishie’s husband.

Dear Lord, we also thank you for sending us prayer partners to pray for these difficult intentions. Thank you for Jhash1, brigid12, 244rocket, Trishie, Suzanne57, sidhe54 and all who pray for your suffering people. May each of them feel for themselves and their families your favor for offering so faithfully prayers on behalf of these your children.

God, not only is it difficult to live with a mental illness, but it’s also difficult to be around people who do not understand the trials we go through on a daily basis. We are often ridiculed, overlooked, and misunderstood. Please help open the minds of those who are blessed with the lack of a mental illness and give them the gift of understanding through Your Holy Spirit so they may be able to help and comfort those who know what it’s like to have one. Please help us realize that we are also blessed in a way to live with these illnesses; they are debilitating, but channeled properly, they can be a source of positivity.

Blessed Mother, pray for us. Saint Dymphna, pray for us.

Saint Dymphna Prayer
source: yenra.com/catholic/prayers/saintdymphna.html

Lord, our God, you graciously chose St. Dymphna as patroness of those afflicted with mental and nervous disorders. She is thus an inspiration and a symbol of charity to the thousands who ask her intercession.

Please grant, Lord, through the prayers of this pure youthful martyr, relief and consolation to all suffering such trials, and especially those for whom we pray. In particular, I ask for You to help my best friend, my biological mom, my adopted mom, my dad, and my uncle. Please keep them happy, healthy, and close to You always.

We beg you, Lord, to hear the prayers of St. Dymphna on our behalf. Grant all those for whom we pray patience in their sufferings and resignation to your divine will. Please fill them with hope, and grant them the relief and cure they so much desire.

We ask this through Christ our Lord who suffered agony in the garden. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
