I just wanted to open up a thread to say a prayer for those missionaries, especially priests and religious sisters who have given up so much to go parts of the world spreading the Good News that Jesus is risen. Many of them are far away from their families, some living in very remote areas with few resources, facing many dangers and obstacles. They really do need our prayers.

Dear Lord,

Keep them safe and watch over them. Give them strength in their trials and the power to spread your Word and convert many.

Amen

Your intentions will be in my prayers.***

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen

God bless you +

Please especially remember the SVD (Divine Word Missionaries) in places like Orissa, India. The persecution of Catholics and Christians in India is horrifically intense … deaths, rapes, burnings, destroying homes, destroying churches, destroying orphanages, closing schools … and the newspapers are not reporting it. Priests and nuns are specifically singled out, and among these are missionaries.

Lord, help!

Yes. These people are wonderful and I will keep them in prayer. I am thinking of the Consolata Missionaries who are in Africa.

Jesus, You sent your priests and missionaries out into the world to spread Your gospel and to care for the poor and disadvantaged, please protect and inspire them, and give their prayers and efforts much fruit. Thank You, Jesus

For the Missionaries of Jesus …

Look upon us, Jesus,
We who are your friends and disciples.
Give us the patience to sit down
and marvel at your wonders in our midst.
You are present, yet wonderfully hidden,
in cultures and beliefs other than ours.
Grant us the grace to discover you
in the midst of our busy lives.
Instill in us the patience of a woodcarver
in carefully removing the things that hide your face.
Make us more your devoted missionaries
eager at making you, and not ourselves, known.
Mold us and shape us that we become
your worthy friends and disciples.
Amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created.
And You shall renew the face of the earth.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations. Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Eternal Father, we humbly offer Thee our poor presence, and that of the whole of humanity, from the beginning to the end of the world at all the Masses that ever have or ever will be prayed. We offer Thee all the pains, sufferings, prayers, sacrifices, joys, and relaxations of our lives, in union with those of our Lord Jesus here on earth. May the Most Precious Blood of Christ, all His Blood, Wounds, and Agony save us, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Amen.

Prayer for Protection of Missionary Priests and Religious

Heavenly Father, we ask You to place a hedge of protection around Catholic missionaries. It hides them from the enemy, familiar spirits, any and all demon spirits, making it difficult, if not impossible, for them to effectively track or trace them in the realm of the spirit. There shall be no perforations or penetrations to these hedges of protection according to your word in Psalm 91. We know that You will answer this prayer because we love You and we trust in Your name. We pray that Your blood, Lord Jesus, will cover them and all that You have given them. Thank you for your divine protection in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

St. Agnes, although you were only a child,
you believed that Jesus was always with you;
help us to remember that he is also with us,
and to remain true to his presence. Amen.
