I had a Mormon Man tell me that the LDS Church does so much good that it has to be the real Church Christ established. He pointed out that they also give to Catholic Charities, that we work together.
I let him know that the Catholic Church is the largest charitable organization on the face of the earth. I told him that one could do many good works in a lifetime and still not make it to heaven, that it is in recognizing the Most Holy Trinity, how we can choose to allow it to work through us. It’s not about us!
I beleive the the difference between the two faiths has to do with Pride VS humility. As a Catholic I get caught up in the pride but I do know my faith well so I have a sense of the battle. I do not believe Mormons have this same sense because of a lack of belief in One God where all life flows, where all good comes from. I do not believe that they see God as creation itself, rather part of creation. I would love to speak to the Mormons on this board about humility, about Trinity, about Jesus in a deep sense of these matters of faith. I do help with the RCIA in Utah, I was raised LDS as a child but I was not baptised. I was baptised into the Catholic faith nine years ago here in Northern Utah.
