After weeks of prayerful discernment and speaking with my Pastor, I have decided to leave CAF. I find the climate to be too negative and unnecessarily argumentative.

I find that if I post a reply to be genuinely helpful and charitable, someone is always willing to nitpick and find something wrong where nothing IS wrong. This very thing happened this week and it was the straw that broke the camel’s back. It reminded me of the New Testament admonition to avoid petty arguments and useless quarreling.

I also find that if I complain about this or when I complained about being ignored when I requested to be a prayer warrior, I’m told that I’m too sensitive. Wow, really?

I wonder if the more seasoned regular members aren’t sensitive enough.

And so I pray:

Heavenly Father, we come to You in the Name of Jesus Christ, Your Only-Begotten Son and our Saviour. We beseech Your Provident Hand to guide CAF and its prayer warriors so that it may be truly positive and enriching and be imbued with a climate of peace, joy and mutual respect. We ask You to humble the proud and quarrelsome members who sometimes cause the loss of members by their uncharitable behavior. Guide all to be more sensitive and to refrain from the temptation to argue and have the last word. Help them to refrain from beating others over the head with Bible or CCC passages. Rather let all be guided by the Holy Spirit. We make our prayer with confidence, glorifying Your Sacred Name. Amen

A Prayer to St. Jude

Most holy apostle, St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the Church honors and invokes you universally, as the patron of hopeless cases, of things almost despaired of.

Pray for me, I am so helpless and alone. Make use I implore you, of that particular privilege given to you, to bring visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of.

Come to my assistance in this great need that I may receive the consolation and help of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations, and sufferings,*** particularly for the ‘prayer warrior’s’ and their families and friends, ***and that I may praise God with you and all the elect forever.

I promise, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, to always honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to gratefully encourage devotion to you.
