As a prelate, you one of the only ones to defend Pope Boniface when he was seized, beaten and forced from the palace. When you were elected to the See of St. Peter, you made sure that justice was served for your predecessor and shepherded your flock with fairness and gentleness. Though you only served eight months as pope, your tenure was marked with holiness. Pray for all who have posted here today, that we may be charitable and patient with all those who oppose us, submit to the will of God, and defend our faith until the bitter end. Bl.
