At this point, given that the Holy Father and the Ecumenical Patriarch have concelebrated Liturgy I think the Re-Union is a fait accompli.

It is a misnomer that His All Holiness and the Pope of Rome celebrated liturgy together. There has officially been no concelebration of the liturgy between Eastern Orthodox Christians and Roman Catholics.

I’m not Orthodox and don’t claim to speak for them; nevertheless, I feel a duty to point out to you this is no small misrepresentation of the Ecumenical Patriarch.

By way of comparison, we might consider, from a Catholic pov, if someone claimed that the Pope concelebrated with e.g. Rowan Williams.
