For those that say the rosary everyday

How do you manage to do that?
How long does it take you to say the rosary?
I pray the rosary before bed, so I have all the time I need and no pressure to speed it up.
And I take about 20 to 30 minutes to pray it, but I do include the Litany and some private devotions.

I listen and follow along with The Family Rosary on Relevant Radio. The have an app and a skill for Amazon Echo. It takes about 25 minutes.

I have a couple of questions: you mwntuoned praying the Rosary in your head–is it possible to pray it in your head and meditate? I must do the prayers aloud in order to “free my mind” (?) for meditating, but of course I was once unable to meditate while saying the prayers so I wondered.

Second, as to the difference between the meditative Rosary and the non-meditative, is that ok? I feel like if I am in a situation which is too distracting, I shouldn’t even try, but I do a lot of driving, and I think I could get some non-meditative Rosaries in there. Traffic is just so crazy at the times I drive that I know there would be times when the recording would go on without me, or if I am praying solo, then I would realize that my mind had been jolted away and I had forgotten to return.

This young lady says the rosary every night at about 9:05 pm Eastern Standard Time:

She’s been doing this every night for a couple of weeks or so now. She’s very very easy to listen to. I’ve said the rosary every night with them ever since she started this streak of rosaries. I think I watched one or two of her videos before that, but she’s a fairly recent discovery for me. I really find this very comforting.

First, I make a difference between reciting the rosary and meditating with the support of the rosary.
When I meditate with the rosary, it normally takes me between 40 minutes and one hour. At each “Hail Mary” I meditate.
on the other hand, I have difficulty reciting the rosary , and I think we should do it only when we have difficulties to meditate. The recitation should take me about 20 minutes.

I prayed the rosary daily from 2010 to 2016.

I took it up again this year.

It takes me about 15 to 20 minutes to say it.

She like totally messed up the Apostle’s
Creed. I guess someone said something.
I don’t care for her, but I just want to hear the Rosary, I don’t want to wait 5 minutes while she welcomes all the people contacting her online. That is why I stopped watching Lizzie videos too.

This is a cool site, especially if your getting started. Takes 20 mins or so. I like how you can follow while focus on the mysteries. Ultimately though I’m hoping to memories them so I can pray in silence.

Well the rosary is primarily a vocal prayer so it is not surprising you pray it out loud, I do too except when I am out in public. I merely can pray it in my head. You (plural - meaning people) can pray out loud whilst a back train of thought/mental prayer goes through their head. To pray it in your head and mediate at the same time, well I dont know. I am not a healthy person, so my brain can’t do that. I say the decade and then meditate on the mystery, other people do it other ways. At this point one meets God and it can be a long meditation or just a little musing. Don’t take too much notice of my words I am not saying the rosary is meditative , it is vocal but can be used to meditate on, because it is based on scripture. Think of it as a lecito divina of sorts, reading the scriptural passage/ mystery in question and then mediating on it by lifting it to God in prayer. The Hail Mary’s I find make quite a meditative feeling whether said out loud or in ones head as you are saying them to Our Lady who is no doubt listening and helping guide you and has taken note of whatever intentions you have prayed for for that decade and is interceding for you on whatever graces you have asked for for that decade so whilst saying the Hail Mary’s it can happen that an answer or message can come to you. As for second part, I did not mean to make you think there is a non meditative or meditative rosary, there isnt as I said about, it’s a vocal prayer primarily, but a person can say it in a meditative way. I initially say I am a meditative sayer of the rosary, meaning it is me who is the doer not the rosary . You can say it without thinking or meditating on the mysteries at all and then it is pretty much purely vocal. You should still offer intentions and ask for graces though. I am not good with words sorry for the misunderstanding, it is my wonky brain. I am sorry I can’t comment on the driving issue, I think you should be careful and concentrate on driving but you are the one who should decide.

Thank you so much for your reply: it was very clear to me, so maybe my brain is a bit wonky too!

Sometimes I drive in a lot of traffic, sometimes on empty highways. I am definitely careful!

For those who fall asleep praying the Rosary, do you finish it the next morning when you wake up?

I like to do it with a podcast or recording of some sort - & there are options out there! 😃

I like doing the Rosary to one of these:

The ones from EWTN with Mother Angelica usually run about 27 mins. ea.:

There’s also the ETWN International Rosary, which is interesting if you want to recite the Holy Rosary & occasionally hear others recite it in their native tongue:

There’s also the EWTN Stained Glass Rosary…

If you like the original Holy Rosary that was recited during the week on Relevant Radio, you can listen to the audio on the Relevant Radio/Immaculate Heart Radio App, or if you have access to Soundcloud, you can hear them there:

The short versions run about 17 mins, while the regular ones run about 28 mins.

Sometimes I like having the imagery while I recite it to help me focus on the Mysteries, but other times, I do it just listening to Fr. Rocky & contemplate the Mysteries in my own mind…

I used to do it in the evening, but now I find it best to do it in the morning before tackling the day. It helps me keep my focus on Him throughout the day, & I am more mindful of praying throughout the day…

You can listen to it while en route to your destination! 😃

I used to do that when I would drive to work at a certain location, & since the drive time was about 30 mins, it was perfect for doing the Rosary from Relevant Radio!

I used to have some good recordings–I need to recreate my collection 🙂
Thanks for all the great links in your post above!

Sometimes though, I do like to head on down to my parish & pray before the Blessed Sacrament. It just shuts out the world & the noise that doesn’t matter, & it puts the focus on Him.

I addition to praying the Rosary daily at college, I also lead a Group Rosary at college with anywhere from 4 to 20 people there. It’s really nice, we do it in the chapel, I have quick Bible verses for each mystery, and I start off the Rosary with talking about one promise of the Rosary and then have the intentions of the Rosary be for the end to abortion and healing and mercy for anyone who has had an abortion as well as an end to pornography

Before I retired last year I prayed the rosary during lunch hour everyday; one half of my 1 hour lunch break was the duration. That was for about four or five years before I retired that I did it.

Now, since retirement, I pray it every morning at the Y while walking on an indoor track; it takes one mile or about 20 minutes. That leaves a lot of time for other contemplation also since I go between four and 7 miles a day.

Mary is teaching me how to say, “Behold the servant of the Lord; let it be done unto me according to your word.”
She is showing me that I am praying, “Oh my Jesus forgive us our sins…”
She is reminding me that her son says, " When you pray pray like this: "Our Father…, "
Then she tells me to say the same thing she says, “Behold the Servant of the Lord; let it be done to me according to your word, Jesus”
And then I direct my body, my mouth, my words, to equal what Jesus told me to pray. And I pray the Our Father before the next decade; my prayer is the prayer of a servant carrying out the command of his master who told him to pray the Our Father, and in that prayer is the request for forgiveness which I had prayed to Jesus after the Glory Be, “Oh my Jesus forgive us our sins…”
Jesus answered My Prayer by having Mary teach me to talk like she talked to Gabriel. She taught me to do the work of a servant just as she did; she bore the Savior; I prayed the Our Father.

John Martin

I pray the rosary during adoration, or before bed, that takes about 15-20 mins. If there’s a day I wasn’t able to, I do two in a day. I am praying the 54-day rosary novena, so I make sure I stick to it.

My wife and I just enrolled in the Rosary Confraternity, as we pray at least one daily rosary together. Does membership begin immediately, or upon receipt of the certificate they are supposed to email within ten business days? Is anyone here a member and know?
