For those that spread falsehoods about the Catholic Church

I don’t want to use the term lie because that implies it is intentional and a lot of these folks just don’t know better. I was on my way to Myrtle Beach and I went into a gas station to get a donut which by the way they didn’t have except the powdered ones which I don’t eat and I hear someone at the top of their lungs okay maybe I’m exaggerating but not by much yelling about how Purgatory is not in the Bible and the Church just made it up to make money and I know that isn’t true so I think these types of folks including him need our prayers. I know how to defend the Church’s position but I also have a temper. I think maybe we should pray that someone who doesn’t have a temper should have a conversation with him about it
 
LOL, are you from the South? It’s everywhere down there. I was once invited to a bbq by a co-worker and once I got there I was sat down and interrogated about everything including how the Pope was the anti-Christ. For my part I think I did okay, but definitely wish I knew then what I know now.

Anyway, it’s a part of life, they just don’t know any better, the sad thing is they think they are doing God’s work, even though standing in the middle of a street fair with a mega phone calling everyone sinners and telling them they are going to hell just does not seem like the way Jesus would have done it.

You got the right idea, just pray for them…

I am from South Carolina and I have lived down here most of my life but I’ve only really seen it twice anyway I think we shall pray for them, well thrice if you include my anti-catholic ex-girlfriend. I mean I’ve got some ideas but I’m not in an apologetic mood when I’ve been traveling in a car for you know 150 miles or whatever it was. actually, if I would have brought Catholicism and Fundmentalism with me from my house I would have gave it to him. I hate to do this with you because I agree with you but I think if we’re going to have this conversation you need to move it elsewhere because I posted this in prayer intentions. No offense.

Praying for your intention. What comes to me is GK Chesterton’s quote about how he can imagine the man in the street seeing a procession of people in some strange religion holding candles, icons, statues, holy books and other items saying all of this is bosch. Chesterton could imagine the man in the street saying all of this is hogwash. But, what Chesterton can’t imagine is the man in the street proclaiming that only a particular scroll from their holy items is true and that by that scroll all other things in their procession are judged. 😃
 
I pray for people to have understanding for many years. I have heard comments my whole life regarding people’s opinions on the CC. It hurts and makes me mad but all I can do is pray and sometimes I have the opportunity to try to clarify.
