Can you use a bundt cake pan for angel food cake? If so is there anything different that you need to do?

I’m not sure, the angel food cake pan is shaped that way so the cake can rise. It might not rise in a bundt pan, and might stick in the grooves. I haven’t tried it so I’m not sure.

You can use a bundt pan without doing anything different, but your cake may not come out as easily because of the fluted edges. Personally, I only have good luck with my bundt pan when I do extra moist cakes (like my carrot cake :🤤:).

LOL i use my bundt pan for dense cakes like my milk chocolate, choclate chip cake.

At first glance I thought this post was under the Prayer Intentions forum for some reason.

Pray for our bakers!😃

I’ve always made angel food in a bunt. The simpler bunts are much better for this method.

I used a traditional old metal cookware pan. greased and floured

Watch the cake carefully and prop upside down when done.

Ummmmm. i’ve never tried it, I think it would bake fine but might be difficult to get out. Make sure you butter and flour the inside of it well even if it’s non stick. It might come out really nicely you never know!

Maybe ask St. Honore/ Honoratus for a blessing before you sick it in the oven, he’s the Patron Saint of bakers:thumbsup:

Won’t it stick? When I remove an angel cake from its pan (after cooling it completely, upside down on a wine bottle!) I still have to use a sharp knive to separate the cake from the straight sides of the pan . . . Can’t imagine getting it out of a bundt pan . . .

Thank You everyone. I went ahead and bought an angel food cake pan today, actually I found 6 mini ones. My bundt pan is kind of elaborate (cathedral look), so I figured it would be best to not try it.

I always use Wilton Release on my cakes so I have never had problems with them sticking. 😛

Angel food cakes rise like crazy while baking so do NOT put the whole thing in one regular bunt pan or you will end up with a HUGE stinky burnt mess to deal with on the oven… don’t ask how I know because I’ll never admit to it :dts: You could probably put half in a bunt pan, I don’t know because I was never brave enough to try it again so I just bought some loaf pans 🤷

I would think it would overflow unless you didn’t use the entire mix.???

I have baked angel food cakes in loaf pans with good success. (2 or 3, depending on size).I wouldn’t even attempt it in my bundt pan–too many -places for the cake to get stuck to.

I’ve baked angel food in a bundt pan multiple times. It rises very very high…so make sure the pan is well coated. It comes out beautifully. 🙂
