For Those who Say Yoga Is Demonic: AoG Pastor Briefly Speaks, Then Hear From A Priest’s Perspective

My point is that some priests have apparently told some CAF posters that yoga leads to demonic activity…or somehow misled those posters to conclude that, just like the Protestant pastor I mentioned in the OP; but this priest disagrees.
We’ve had quite a few threads about this topic.

Why do you insist on this misleading title? The video uses the term Pastor. Indeed, the man speaking is a Pastor of an Assemblies of God Church.

He is not a priest. Why do you insist on calling him a priest?

Hope, I am asking if the direct words, the direct statement of the Bishop is there, Its not, Its been taken down. All that is there now is the OPINION of other members of CAF.

There is a big difference between the words of an Archbishop and the words of chatters here. See what I mean?

You have not used any statements or words of a Catholic Priest or an Archbishop that is quoted or misquoted in that old thread.

Here is my advice, contact the Archbishop and ask about yoga. Its Australia, someone will get back to you.

I don’t see any links to him ever having been an exorcist either. And if he was, we wouldn’t know. Just who The diocesan exorcists are not information the laity is privileged with.

The title isn’t misleading. You’re unintentionally misleading posters because, well, if you’d bothered watching the video, you’d know that Fr. Edward Beck was interviewed and disagrees with the protestant pastor.

Yoga is an ancient Hindu excersise intended to bring you to a deeper understanding of your inner self. Most will tell you that if you have a faith strong enough it doesn’t matter. Certain aspects of it can go against the Faith however especially the notion of it all being you who are in power of everything.
Hindus actually take offense many times to the western world almost commercializing something sacred to them. And I can’t blame them. If some other culture just stole one of our traditions and began using it as a secular thing I’m sure we would as well.
Yoga can lead to a false belief that can lead to indifference. I wouldn’t say it is on level of the occult like some say as most in the west don’t do it for spiritual purposes but only exercise. Still, caution needs to be used.

Hope I agree with mis dizzy here, if I go to that link, I see a man talking, I assume that man is the priest , as per your title.

A pastor of the assemblies of God church is not an ordained priest. And frankly I couldn’t be bothered watching the video, it uses up my download limit and is not something I really want to watch , so I will read your title, think its a priest on that video and move on.

Maybe you can change the title to reflect that its a non catholic speaking and then the stance of the catholic priest later in the video.

Anyone want to open a “Harry Potter leads to the occult thread”? Don’t think we’ve had one of those in a couple of weeks.
Funny you say that. I opened a Harry Potter thread two weeks ago, but I stated at the top that I did not want to discuss whether HP was unchristian. I got zero responses in that thread. I guess on CAF HP is considered interesting only as long as it’s about how he “leads to the occult”, as you put it.

Kudos to you for pointing this out.

Hanging rosary beads from rear view mirror?
Wearing cross earrings?
Somehow acquiring sacred oils and using them?
Wearing Roma collar or religious habit?

I think it’s possible that a woman who wears yoga pants as if they are attire suitable for the day’s errands and various chores may have been influenced by the culture to such an extent that it makes them not notice the folds and lumps that their yoga pants announce. It seems in keeping with the demonic to conflate and confuse fashion and slop, lust and revulsion, pretty and ugly. But what do I know, I’ve never worn them, but like a roadside accident I am drawn in some way I cannot justify to look at their results.

Yoga pants are demonic? 🤨

What is it with tight pants these days? Even people that one would think would want to conceal their cellulose rather than let the world view it.

Not demonic, just poor taste.

No. Yoga is a religious practice. There are many types of yoga that go beyond just physical poses. It has to do with spiritual enlightenment in certain senseSaying specific prayers and reading certain hindu texts also fits under a category of yoga.

When you have God in your life, you don’t need other types of “spiritual enlightenment.”

Perhaps he is talking about YOGURT which if you eat too much can give disgestive disorders which from a distance can sound quite demonic!!!
