Law requires definitions. Stating that only a ‘man’ can marry a ‘woman’ creates all sorts of legal loopholes because of the rather variable state of what is man and what is woman. It can’t ever be done scientifically, or it can’t be done in cases like yours? Or are you saying that since it can’t be done “for all”, it can’t be done at all?
Like I said, I can marry a man in some states, women in others. It’s completely variable as to what definition applies to me because every state has a different definition and standard. ie: I am a living violation of DOMA.
I could marry someone in one state legally, have it be viable in others, OK in some others, even if it looked like a completely gay or straight marriage, depending on whether I married a man or a woman.
