This was wonderful. Thank you so very much for sharing this!

If only Mr Voris had latched onto the phrase *Extraordinary Form *the way he did *Extraordinary Minister *it might answer the people’s wonderings…

NB: That is not how *I *feel about the word extraordinary, but then again, my opinion is on record that *extraordinary form *is a stoopid way to denote the Gregorian Rite/Missal of Bl John XXIII…

Michael Voris, and the rest of the Real Catholic TV staff, get better with each segment. I’ve had only one problem with them that was semi-settled with some emails, but overall they are just awesome.

Voris gets it right yet again. Gotta love Real Catholic TV and the Vortex. Thanks for posting.

That is, hands down, the BEST Vortex I’ve seen yet 🙂 And most of them are very good.

Is it just me or does RealCatholicTV seem to be saying a lot more about the TLM and other specific traditional practices lately?

damooster, would you mind sharing what your issue was?

👍
He did a little too much generalizing in my opinion.

Yeah I agree I think it’s great since many people don’t even know about the EF. I like Michael because I started watching him at a very important part of my life, I was just comming back to the Church, he basically answered any my left over uncertenties about the Church and I was able to close the chapter of my fallen away life.

I thought the video was pretty good. I enjoyed the line, though, that “the new Mass has openings in it, in which clowns or animals to be brought into the sanctuary.” LOL – now that would be a surprisingly traditional Mass!

Oh, and, um, the first rule of pedantically correcting people about something is not to get it wrong yourself, but whatever, Michael Voris.

Awesome 👍 glad to hear it! Welcome back

Festum Asinorum!

Now that’s a really, really interesting bit of Catholic history right there. Thanks!

I’ve seen the “real?” catholic website mentioned in other posts, and I believe Michael is causing much harm and division with his reactionary statements. The other day on EWTN, Ray Guarendi commented that there are 300,000 masses celebrated PER DAY in the universal church. I would have liked to learn the amount of TLM masses in comparison.

Doesn’t anybody get the fact that these 300,000 masses are virtually the sacrifice of our High Priest, Jesus Christ, in whom the Father is well-pleased? How anyone can, in full conscience, denigrate this liturgy and believe God is accepting of this public slander that fosters disunity and utter disrespect for the ORDINARY form of mass is beyond belief.

In a faithless age, the Church needs more reactionaries.

We wonder the same thing about the Traditional Latin Mass and how it can be denigrated so much by modern Catholics, most of whom have never heard of it before or understand what differentiates it from the NO Mass.

Also, how can you be sure that all those 300,000 Masses are validly celebrated? Matter, form, and intent are required for a valid Mass; this means that a NO Mass can most certainly be validly celebrated by a priest who has the traditional understanding of these three requirements, but there have been plenty of Masses with questionable validity in the past 40 years. To wit, any Mass with the priest in clown suit, or nude participants, or liturgical dancers hopping about, or common vessels for the Body and Blood, and so on may be valid, or may not be - it all depends on what Fr. So-and-so intends to do as he officiates.

These days, the TLM is generally celebrated by highly conservative priests with serious and traditional intentions; we can thank the rift of the past 40 years for that, otherwise the Traditional Mass might be the one today where abuses happen. Nonetheless, it’s not wrong to want the TLM, to identify the modernist causes of why the Mass of All Time is not celebrated in every parish (as it ought to be), or to criticize those who oppose it. The pendulum eventually swings the other way, and it’s hung on the modernist side of the clock far too long.

As a side note, I’ve never been to a Traditional Mass, but I’ve seen recordings of them, and read the text of the Traditional Missal, so even without that firsthand experience I can see what the pro-TLM crowd is talking about - and I grew up in a highly-conservative NO parish where the NO Mass was said with unquestionable matter and form and intent.

First, may I ask for links to You-tube and/or threads here at CAF where ANYONE has denigrated the TLM? If there is such a thing, it can be counted on one hand. Alternatively, scores upon scores of threads, blogs, internet videos have been posted to absolutely slander the OF liturgy.

Second, it is NOT the TLM that anyone objects to, but it is the TLM-ers who have the arrogant attitude that “My liturgy is magnificent - yours stinks.” THIS is what I have heard time and again that angers the priests and bishops who have demonstrators at their door demanding “their rights” and expecting them to be fulfilled upon notification, or else. Get the picture?

I think it would be wise to read the lives of certain women Doctors of the Church, who wrote about Our Lord’s strong condemnation of those who do not respect His liturgy or His ministers. We are not talking about a secular holiday celebration, but a daily HOLY of Holies llturgy, each of which is attended by the Church Triumphant and the angels.

Were you aware that certain priests in these Doctors’ day celebrated the liturgy in mortal sin? Did that permit the laity to denigrate it? No, and Our Lord affirmed that no matter how evil the celebrant is spiritually, the Mass is still a HOLY sacrifice which is to be honored, revered, celebrated … in spite of any abusive actions of the priest.

It truly grieves me to hear ANY liturgy publicly trashed by those who feel they have license to air their complaints and make their importance felt.

Two cents and then some.

Division? You mean speaking out about the truth? No where does he denigrate the mass itself, but the abuses caused my some liberal priest and bishops. Real Catholic TV has done more than most of us put together to spread the truth without apology. There Vortex series is only a fraction of the the entire network. The TLM has been around for almost 2000 years, the OF has only been around for about 40 years.
