Divine Mercy
Eternal God,
in whom mercy is endless
and the treasury of compassion
  • inexhaustible,
    look kindly upon us
    and increase Your mercy in us,
    that in difficult moments
    we might not despair
    nor become despondent,
    but with great confidence
    submit ourselves to Your holy will,
    which is Love and Mercy itself.

Inspired with this confidence, we turn to you, O Virgins of virgins, our Mother. To you we come, before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful. Lord in Your mercy give courage to those suffering. Hold them near to Your heart. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

while they rest in Your Presence.
Permit them to lay down their cross in Your Sacred Heart,
for only Your infinite goodness can sustain them;
only Your love can help them bear their cross;
only Your powerful hand can lighten its weight.
O Divine King, Jesus,
whose heart is so compassionate to the afflicted,
May they wish to live in You;
suffer and die in You.

To face whatever is to be.

There are times when humans help,

For those whose suffering seems endless because they see their dear ones suffering:

Suffering of loved ones

Eternal and loving God, please alleviate the trials and sufferings of dear ones when we are unable to relieve their difficulties or when our efforts to assist prove unwise.

Continue to bless our loved ones if they abandon relationship with You or drift from the Church that Jesus instituted for our benefit and for worship of God. Bless their sorrowing parents, for we tried to teach and support them, and continue to pray for them.

We are grieved when their relationships and welfare are threatened. In this era, perhaps the most eroding factor in their lives and relationships is stress or addictions. Many issues assail them and they are required to work with extraordinary dedication to survive. They may have little leisure to blossom into all they are created to be and to share.

Sometimes difficulties escalate even as we pray and hope. Our anxiety for loved ones sometimes seems unendurable, testing our trust in God. Please deepen our relationship with You in these trials of the heart.

God, in Your merciful love please carry our families through their labours, their leisure, their joys and trials. Let their relationships and lives flourish in love, faith, and peace. We consecrate our dear ones and ourselves to Your divine mercy, trusting You to work out their salvation. If they are unable to return to You sooner, let their final choice be for Your merciful love.Thank You for Your care of them, even where it is not manifest.
 
Most Blessed and afflicted Virgin, Queen of Martyrs, who didst stand generously beneath the cross, beholding the agony of thy dying Son; by the sword of sorrow which then pierced thy soul, by the sufferings of thy sorrowful life, by the unutterable joy which now more than repays thee for them; look down with a mother’s pity and tenderness, as I kneel before thee to compassionate thy sorrows, and to lay my petition with childlike confidence in thy wounded heart.

I beg of thee, O my Mother, to plead continually for me with thy Son, since He can refuse thee nothing, and through the merits of His most sacred Passion and Death, together with thy own sufferings at the foot of the cross, so to touch His Sacred Heart, that I may obtain my request~
