Last night we had a violent thunderstorm in our area that knocked out the power for thousands of people in the STL area as well as southern Illinois. Then today a heat wave started with heat indexes above 110 degrees. There are still a few thousand people without power in the area, so no air conditioning or even fans or fridges to keep water cold. Please pray that the electric company can get the power back on quickly and for those who have no where to go to keep safe from the heat.
 
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

For Help in Trials

Most holy apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered your beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused you to be forgotten by many. But the Church honors and invokes you universally as the patron of hopeless cases–of things despaired of. Pray for me who feels so hopeless. Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (For those without electrical power), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. Amen.

I’m praying for you guys. May the Lord turn the power back on and may He help all people who are suffering without air conditioning.
 
Holy One, you are our comfort and strength in times of sudden disaster.
Surround us now with your grace and peace through and after the storm.
By your Spirit, lift up those who have fallen, sustain those who work to repair or rebuild,
and fill us with the hope of your new creation; through Jesus Christ, our rock and redeemer.
 
Beloved Jesus, You suffered through many human difficulties.
Please have compassion on all these persons and families who are anxious and affected in various ways by the loss of power which endangers health and food supplies.
Please send Your Angels to expedite restoration of facilities.

Dear Jesus, I pray in your name for all those coping with excessive heat, that they are able to get what they need whether it is power for their air conditioning and fans, cool water, or better shelter or other help. Amen.

Blessed Mother and St. Joseph, please pray for this intention. Thank you. Amen.
