Loving God,
We come before you tonight to lift up your loving son Tony and his family, and to ask for your blessings and mercy on them as they continue their faith journey together. Lord Jesus, Tony is very ill and we pray that you are preparing a place for him with you in the next life as you told us in the Gospel of John, Chapter 14, when you said, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in me. In my Father’s house, there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you there myself, so that where I am you also may be.” Dear Lord, we pray that you have prepared the place for Tony and that he and his loving family may be comforted in the knowledge that at the end of his days on earth he will live again with you in your Father’s house. We pray that you will grant comfort, courage, strength, and hope to Tony and his family as he endures the great suffering of his disease, and we pray for caring and competent care givers who may ease his days and help his family through these difficult times. Lord, you will never give us more than we can bear, although you often test our limits and we sometimes forget that you will bend but not break us. Please help Tony and all of his family to love each and you with all their strength. Please receive your son Tony in accordance with your Holy and divine will and may your blessed Mother Mary comfort Tony during this time of transition.
We pray in the name of our Lord Jesus, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever.
