For victims of a violent assault

Please pray for the repose of the soul of SL, and also for her boyfriend RM who is still alive. 10 years ago, there was a high profile murder case in the UK in which both SL and RM were beaten unconscious by a gang of thugs for no other reason than they were “different”. SL died of her injuries but RM survived and has had to live with both the physical and emotional effects of the attack since. There was a televised drama in the UK about the incident last night.

I’m aware of this case, which has been heavily publicized including on USA social media and has its own foundation.

I pray for the repose of the soul of SL and that Jesus continues to help and strengthen RM in his life after this terrible trauma, and for all other victims who are targets of violence for being perceived as “different”. In Jesus’ Name I humbly pray. Amen.

Make use, I implore you, of that particular privilege accorded to you of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, in particular (victims of a violent assault, and RL), and that I may bless God with you and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise you, O Blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor you as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to you. God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal (victims of a violent assault, and RL). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into victims of a violent assault, and RL’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
