Ok, but that doesn’t change, that under some circumstances it seems to be permissable (e.g. Assisi likely was not against Churchs teaching) but under other circumstances it would be not permissable (e.g. i suspect wiccan an satanists were not welcome in Assisi and if some had come, the Pope would not have participated).
Assisi was an initiative of our beloved Pope John Paul II.
Benedict put a brake on certain traditions like killing cocks and so on.
I think that in Assisi not everybody was praying to the God of Catholics.

I can pray next to any one,
My G-d is true and most powerful.

If you have doubts about faith or are young dont pray with those who dont have faith in a god who is good for all.

i think the only reason people get worried about who you pray with is because they care for you.

missing only very few I have prayed Friday prayers with Muslims now for maybe eight years.
I have done this openly and generously, “if they have the real image of G-d count me in” attitude so to speak.
I have eagerly look for G-d in them and have seen lots of His goodness, lots of not so good too. In many ways as people the mix is not much different to our parish.
I have also prayed around, pentacostals, mormans, anglicans and so on.
Same fruit just different dogmas.

I realise now G-d had me pray around for them not me, i am called to love and serve you all, regardless of your religion.

If it has done anything for me its increased my understanding and paitence with Catholics.

The heavens may supprise many as to whos in and whos out.

If what i bind here is bound there I am blessed He has helped me to appriciate Him in people of many faiths.

If i had stayed in my Grandfathers “place or time” of 'Catholics only in heaven our" house would be poorer and my Grandfather would have had to miss out on many people of other faiths he knew and enjoyed who had lots of G-ds goodness but werent Catholic.

Praise G-d life is not about just our won generation but of our whole house.

“i will be who i will be”, you have free will so choose who you see

From WoundedIcon:

This is just my unqualified opinion, but my sense is that once you get to the point where you hate, it really doesn’t matter anymore what you are praying to, or who you are praying next to.

Again, just my opinion, but surely there have to be more noble reasons to be charitable to others than simply so they won’t hate you back.

Your friend,
Sufjon
