LOL! I get ya. Id would have liked to give up somthing this lent, but I honestly feel I have given up enough for the year by being in a desert, with only a quarter of the goods and services America has to offer. I guess I could give up getting mortared. that wouldnt bother me. They keep hitting our latrine…

I didn’t give up anything either
Of course I am also not Catholic anymore… but I still do lent from time to time because I enjoy the practice of giving up something negative-
We also gave up something up and replaced it w something else…
(when I was little that is)
So we all gave up one thing that was unhealthy or a challenge and replaced it w something good… prayer - exercise - ect …
I think this kind of resolve really helped me loss all the weight after having kids - it gave me good endurance

Catholics have a reasoned approach to why homosexual acts are contrary to design therefore not natural and against the designer. It is contrary to the designer, so it is a sin. That being said, I don’t think there is any way to ban homosexual acts by law. Enforcement would be futile for one. But marriage is regulated by law because of its public good. The state only has an interest in me existing (birth certificate, death certificate), and marital status (marriage license). They have no interesting in my baptism, communion, or confirmation because they have nothing to do with the foundation of a society.

Giving (name removed by moderator)ut to the state on our views of marriage regulation is our right as a citizen of our society, and just because we happen to be Christian we should not be silenced.
