Forgetfulness a mortal sin?

Dear Forum!

I politley ask you all to chime in on this

today I was at a soccer tournament (it was my brothers), and i asked the park managers/maintenace people (whatever you want to call them) to borrow a soccer ball. I said i would return it, which my my full intetion, at the end of the day for the team, when we would head home. I forgot to return it and i said i would and i intended to! i left it at teh fields and hope nobody took it home:blush:😊:(. is this mortal sin??) I reembered as we were past leaving the park, headed out of the city

i dont think so, as i was missing two of the conditions

A) i didnt intend to forget it, however, my brain being my brain, did.

b) i didnt meditate on the fact that i was going to forget it on purpose, which i didnt mean to do (i didnt want to forget the ball, although i was a bit scared in the back of my mind i think, like, what if i forgot it)
 
I don’t think this could be a mortal sin.

It was an accident.

Generally if you’re wondering if it’s a mortal sin - It’s not.

To commit a mortal sin you need to have full knowledge that what you are doing is mortally sinful.

You also need to be totally consenting to it.

Basically a mortal sin is turning your back on God in favour of evil. This is not the case here.
 
Honey, you are very scrupulous and you must stop posting every little thing here and instead start working with a regular confessor who can help you see things in their proper perspective and help you learn how to evaluate properly

YOU have to be able to discern these things, not run to CAF and ask strangers.
