Hmm… how can I address this topic?

Hi there fellow laity! Or maybe a hi! Brothers and Sisters in the Consecrated and Religious life

I want to ask a question…

What happens to those sins that you forgot to remember and confess to a priest? You did not intentionally hide but you forgot about it… what now?

And also…

If you had a very terrible sin that you have committed when you are young then you forgot about it, then obviously you continued your life grew up confessed all your sins except that sin that you forgot and then… flashback! You remember what you have done 5 or 10 or 25 years ago.

What if you remember a sin before confession then think that it was just a venial sin (but not really) then proceed not to confess it.

Do we still have to confess all of these forgotten sins?

Hope to be clarified

Yes, if a serious sin comes to your mind years later and you have not confessed it, confess it now and be done with it.

If you did not deliberately hide a sin your Confession was valid and your sins were forgiven.

You should confess it next time you’re at Confession but you don’t need to rush to Confession and you can receive the Eucharist in the meantime.
