I was friends with someone for 22 years… we grew up together, went to the same church, family friends, finished ea other’s sentences, got along smoothly, etc… I put up with almost everything just to stay friends with her, but it only left me knowing & feeling useless. From my perspective, she was never really there for me, her priorities were always different than mine. It kills me to look back at all those experiences & find that she used me just to have a friend while I did the work in the friendship. I kept thinking of the good in her than the bad, when the bad always overpowered her good & was too dependent on her, when I should’ve been dependent on God.

Now, her life is falling apart with the choices she’s making & my life’s getting better (found a new church & involved, have great friends, quit job & found a better one, closer to my family, enjoying my singleness more than ever; I prayed for years to find all those & He provided). Now, she’s attending my church & trying to put her life back in order but needs to talk somewhere, sometime with me. I can’t bring myself to make the effort to meet somewhere…the hurt aches SO much, like there’s a hole in my heart afraid of experiencing everything again…I know her old ways. My life is better without her…I can someday forgive her, but I do not desire friendship unless she changes in positive ways.

Please pray that I have the courage & patience to forgive her & that she forgives me…& let whatever God’s plan to happen with no preventions.

Praying for God’s will to be done in your friendship and that you stay close to your truest friend.

True Friend

Jesus, you are my true friend, my only friend.
You take a part in all my misfortunes;
You take them on yourself;
You know how to change them into blessings.

You listen to me with the greatest kindness
when I relate my troubles to you,
and you always have balm to pour on my wounds.
I find you at all times, I find you everywhere,
You never go away;
if I have to change my dwelling, I find you wherever I go.
You are never weary of listening to me,
You are never tired of doing me good.
I am certain of being beloved by you if I love you;
my goods are nothing to you,
and by bestowing yours on me you never grow poor.
However miserable I may be,
no one nobler or wiser or even holier
can come between you and me,
and deprive me of your friendship;
and death, which tears us away from all other friends,
will unite me forever to you.

All the humiliation attached to old age
or to the loss of honor will never detach you from me.
On the contrary, I shall never enjoy you more fully,
and you will never be closer to me’
than when everything seems to conspire against me,
to overwhelm me, and to cast me down.
You bear with all my faults with extreme patience,
and even my want of fidelity and ingratitude
do not wound you to such a degree
as to make you unwilling to receive me back
when I return to you.

Jesus, grant that I may die praising you,
that I may die loving you,
that I may die for the love of you.

Amen.

Praying for you and your friend…
*O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen*

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon KiwiBliss in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.
Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
    Amen.
Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,
saying:
Jesus, help me!
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:
Jesus, help me!
In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:
Jesus, help me!
In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,
troubles and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!
When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:
Jesus, help me!
When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:
Jesus, help me!
When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good
come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!
When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!
When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and
I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-
comings of every kind:
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen

Praying for you to find forgiveness for your friend…

Prayer to Saint Matthew the Apostle

O holy Apostle, who after thy conversion didst prepare Christ a fine banquet, and a yet more glorious feast for us in thy holy gospel, for it is like the book which the angel gave to Ezechiel to eat and which was as sweet as honey in his mouth, may it be a food for my soul. Implore for me the grace to read it with attention and in the spirit and meaning of the holy Catholic Church, to meditate upon it, and to live in accordance with thy words, written by inspiration of the Holy Ghost, so that I may say with the Psalmist: How sweet are thy words to my palate; more than honey to my mouth. Amen.

St. Matthew, pray for us!

The title says it all.Your quote my life is better without her really is nothing to feel guilty about

Update:

Sent her a “I forgive you” simple note. Few months later, she left a voicemail message asking for forgiveness & apologizing for reasons that she knew hurt me. I called her back & met with her & another friend. It calms me down to see & know now that she’s doing better than before. We both are healed from the hurt by the grace & mercy of God.

Although she’s not a close friend, we’ve been able to pick up where we left off surprisingly… she’s improving her listening skills & taking care of her renewed friends (another friend & me). Her daughter is absolutely precious & such a good little girl- she means everything to her & this friend’s a good mom to her daughter. Its good to see this friend take care of someone other than just herself. Please pray for her faith journey & the father of her daughter… they aren’t likely to stay together in the long run & she doubts of finding a good man who will stay.

Thank you all again for the prayers. May God continue to bless you all for the goodness that you do. God is wonderfully good always.

I invited this friend to volunteer at a homeless ministry with me and now it brings new memories to our renewed friendship. Thank you, dear Jesus & Our Lady for the gift of healing.
