Can God forgive someone who after knowing the truth, rejects it, but later decides to accept God? If they do it many times will God forgive if at the end of their life they finally accept God once and for all? I’m asking this because of terror that I have done that. I do not want to go to hell! Why have I committed an unforgivable sin? I want to be with God.

Yes, as long as you are alive God’s forgiveness and the wideness of His Mercy is there for you!

All of the answers you got here still apply!!

Can anything be forgiven? Moral Theology
You are Jesus’ sweetie! That is what a Sister of Life always says to the people she meets, and its so pure and so disarming in her delivery, it makes me literally tear-up. Yes I am. So are you! And her name, Sister Veritas, is latin for truth! So: Dear sweet heart of Jesus, Yes, even this, Jesus can and will, and I believe already has, forgiven in you. He asks that we be contrite for our sins, and perfect contrition is that of being sorry for our sins because we love God and are sorry we have…

But I read something online saying those things such as rejecting God after knowing the truth is un forgivable. I fear that I have done that and I think I have but I want God to forgive me and to be with him forever someday.

The Church teaches that forgivness is there for every living human being.

Catechism 1864 "Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven."136 There are no limits to the mercy of God, but anyone who deliberately refuses to accept his mercy by repenting, rejects the forgiveness of his sins and the salvation offered by the Holy Spirit.137 Such hardness of heart can lead to final impenitence and eternal loss.

Let me ask you a few questions. Do you have thoughts that temt you to reject God or are you doing it because you dont understand something or you trolling?

Ahhh, simple cure but hard path to take. answer is internal healing… ie therapy and forgiveness.

Its like this, therapy as in prayer to God to help you remember bad memories, forgiveness to forgive that person or people who caused bad memories.

Every time those thoughts come to mind, say “Thank you for reminding me of the mercy of God”.

Its not an unforgivable sin. I do not think that there are any unforgivable sins. I my self rejected God many times even though I heard his call. I also blamed God for all of my problems even though deep down I new they where my own fault. I finally fully accepted God, I surrendered to his will and I can tell you that I fully believe that every single Time I rejected God, When I repented I new I was forgiven. I went to confession today and the priest said “I absolved you of ALL of you’re sins” I felt a weight lift off of my shoulders. Maybe you should go to confession and give it all to Jesus.

So simply by accepting forgiveness we are forgiven. I love that.

I heard - the word - “repent” - means to - turn away from.
Keep repenting humbly.
I think of the story Jesus told…
About the two sons…
One said NO - he wouldn’t go and work the farm land,
but later, repented, and went to work -
Jesus said he did his Father’s will !

Oh I think we got our wires crossed. I was not being smart with you I simply meant that almost literally, all we have to do is go to confession and repent like you said, and accept forgiveness. I truly meant that in a positive way. Jesus wants us to accept forgiveness. I truly believe that.

Even if you are trolling, you have a good question there.

Just want to affirm you, and as been said by others here, every time you go for Confession with a remorseful heart, you will receive forgiveness from God. Remember that.

When you sin again, and you go for Confession regretting that sin, you will receive forgiveness again.

Sin is an act, thought and word that is against God. But God will forgive you if you come to him asking for forgiveness.

Let’s remind yourself that Jesus says we must forgive, not just once or twice, but seventy time seven time, which looks like an infinity. If he asks us to do that, it also reflects on his forgiving nature as well.

Be well. Allow the grace of this Holy Week to really change you so that you will not reject God again, especially after going through on what he has done for you and me, which is what this Holy Week is all about.

God bless.
