From their Booklet entitled: HOW TO MAKE A GOOD CONFESSION
“If you commit a MORTAL SIN, make a sincere act of contrition RIGHT AWAY, and go to confession ASAP. If you have PERFECT CONTRITION for a mortal sin, GOD FORGIVES YOU AND FORGIVES THE SIN RIGHT AWAY, but you may not receive Holy Communion UNTIL YOU CONFESS IT IN CONFESSION.”
As I read this, we are to make PRIVATE, CONTRITE confession IMMEDIATELY, and IMMEDIATELY God forgives us. But, we are not fully rejoined to Christ via the Eucharist, until we do Penance prescribed us by the Priest, and receive the full grace of the Eucharist once again.
Is this Lighthouse Cath. Media publication on Confession … the official Catholic understanding on receiving forgiveness of our Mortals ?
