I understand that attending the mass removes venial sins. Is that also true of a communion service? Is it the mass or receiving the eucharist that removes sin?
Thank you.
Thank you.
Blessing yourself with holy water as you enter the church removes venial sins. The penetential rite (I confess to Almighty God…, Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy) also removes venial sins. Lastly the reception of communion removes venial sins as well as strengthens our soul against future mortal sins. If you were receiving communion at the communion service it would remove venial sins.I understand that attending the mass removes venial sins. Is that also true of a communion service? Sorry to say this but let’s not be so negative about the communion service. I think we must understand that sometimes priest are lacking in some parishes. This service occurs around the world where there are lack of priests. I think thereis nothing wrong with the extraordinary ministers giving the Consecrated Host in the Service as long as they don’t try to consecrate the hosts themselves.Lately I have been hearing a lot from people over the country of these comunion services. Are there that many??? That is a terrible shame. Where I live there are about one Catholic Church per square mile and about 3 priests to every parish. Thanks God!!
