No matter how evil the evil act is, there is always a brokenness that precipitates it. At minimum a highly disordered mind caused by sin.

Forgiveness is wanting good for that person, including wanting them to be free from sin and rested in the Lord. Sometimes that’s the kindest thing to pray for them.

Even Jesus got angry. Righteous anger and a desire for justice and order are traits God has too… & God has no sin.

Be shocked and appauled. Want better. But also want better for the offenders than a life of sin and destruction. Pray for their good, want their good and you’ve forgiven.

I try to put myself in Christ’s presence, and bring that person to mind while in the presence of Christ, as if the three of us were together in the same room. And to see that person with the eyes of Christ.
And entrust that person to the mercy of Christ. Christ can be merciful even when I am unable.
