My Parish got a subscription to this website and invited us to share it with others. You just need to go to the website and click register then put in this code: WMV4H

What’s it for? I don’t like clicking on something without a clue what it is, sorry.

Each Parish usually has there own assigned code. Our Parish has paid for a 2 year subscription for Parishioners.

Agree with paperwight. If this is the Augustine Institute, then you should warn people that there is a short free trial period before they are expected to pay.

Yes, I just signed up and there is a free 10 day trial period. Then I believe 9.99 a month for individuals. I personally haven’t found it valuable enough to me to extend beyond the trial period but if it was free from my parish then I would definitely use it more

I probably need to use it more though.

I was a bit dubious, but since one of the parishes I contribute to and visit semi-regularly signed up for this, I figured I’d check it out hoping it had “Roses in December” (the documentary about the 1980s El Salvador martyrs). It didn’t, but it looks like there are some other cool videos to watch.

It’s a wonderful resource. Particularly for those in RCIA.
Our parish has a subscription as well.

You probably shouldn’t be sharing your parish code here. The subscription license states that it is only to be shared within the geographical boundaries of your parish.

Not in this case. OP has given out a parish access code which means his parish has already purchased a subscription. Parishes are allowed to share their access code as they see fit, but within some guidelines. Posting it on a worldwide forum is not within those guidelines.

I administer our Formed account. We use it for both English and Spanish RCIA (primarily the Symbolon series). We also use it for sacramental prep, marriage, confirmation, baptism. Our youth catechists use much of the content as well. And because my wife and I are old, instead of going out and partying on Saturday nights, we’ll instead crack a bottle of wine and watch one of their movies on occasion.

You obviously meant well but it might be wise to check first as to what the conditions are, if there are any, as to the broadness of scope, meant, in the invite to “share it with others”.

I agree.

I’m in Canada, so its not $9.99, but closer to $15. Cdn. I have found it invaluable. I shared the information about it with my priest, and asked him if he could find it possible to have the parish pay for it, and then let everyone use it.
So far, no action on his end, so because I have a limited budget, I’m reducing my parish involvement by $15 Cdn. I teach RCIA and have no budget for materials, so I’ll be using it on my own end. Kind of sad for a parish with 4,500 families to expect their teachers to pay for their own resources.
Sorry for the minor rant. I’m just frustrated.

Formed.org is a great resource! If you can get it for free, for St. Peter’s Sake, check it out.

We were in the same boat. We solicited donations from Catholic business owners and from the Knights of Columbus chapter and raised the necessary amount fairly quickly.
