It’s called brainwashing.
When popular media and many secular segments of our culture decided to promote abortion as a “woman’s right to choose”, they continued a long standing strategy of demonizing anyone who attempts to speak the truth about what is right and what is wrong.
As stated by Dr. Nathanson in the article, lies and extreme exaggeration of statistics were all tactics used by those to achieve their goal.
The desensitizing of the masses and redefining this issue away from the rights of the unborn to the “right (to kill your own baby)” of the mother have been masterfully executed.
If you attempt to support an innocent, defenseless, unborn human beings right to life, you are attacked as “judgmental, closed minded, a religious fanatic, etc., etc.” They expertly use emotional rhetoric to disguise the truth.
We all must stand up to the lies and speak the truth in defense of the most innocent of all, the unborn child.
Start with fervent prayer.
Be a positive example for family and friends by helping the groups that are already established to support the mothers who choose to have their babies.
Get educated on the facts about abortion from the many pro-life organizations like priests for life.
As an American of German decent, I was always embarrassed by the atrocities the Nazis committed. I could not understand how the average person in Germany could have allowed the massacres to occur.
I now believe our “acceptance” of abortion is a far greater crime. We cannot be legally threatened with physical harm for our beliefs and we have so much more information about the 50,000,000+ children that have been murdered “legally” since Roe v. Wade, yet most of us do little or nothing.
Today’s first reading, Isiah 42:6, clearly tells us what we must do, “I, the Lord, have called you for the victory of justice, I have grasped you by the hand…”
I am heading to Eucharistic Adoration, to pray for the strength to do what is right. Pray for me!
