ahhh just what I was talking about. You have every right to post here but to point fingers and laugh is rude and just mean. I don’t need a back bone thank you but I would like to be respected. I’m sorry but I should be reporting your posts because you are so sarcastic it is mean.
So tell me, Patty, why is it disrespectful for me to point out that Popes have made some whopper mistakes on important issues, when Maj is making a big deal about how some Mormon prophets have been mistaken on certain (it seems to me) less important issues? I said from the beginning that I knew you could get out of the charge that Ad Extirpanda was supposed to be an infallible utterance, so it’s not like I’m trying to distort Catholic doctrine, here.

And by the way, if I’m so sarcastic and mean, have there been any posts by Catholics here that were similarly sarcastic and mean, in your opinion? I’m just wondering whether it bothers you when non-Catholics point and laugh at you, but not the other way around.

I make no apologies for pointing and laughing at East Anglican. He was asking for it… bigtime.

Perhaps this might help.
Oh, don’t worry about me–I’m having a great time. I was a little peeved at first about the abortion thing, but this thread just keeps getting more and more fun! You can’t buy the kind of posts East Anglican is making. I reallyreallyreally hope he tries to exorcise me over the internet–PRICELESS!!!😉

LOL!!! :rotfl: He is out of bounds------

although I agree that there is some satanic influence in Mormonism;

BDawg,
were you really intending to put yourself in the category as zerinus?

anyway I think there is a HUGE difference between the catholic claims of papal infallibility and the LDS claims of living prophets. so my perception of what’s important isn’t as relevant (or yours) as impact on doctrine. Catholic doctrine hasn’t changed. Catholic doctrine doesn’t contradict scripture. popes don’t claim direct revelation nor do they reveal new doctrine.

How kind of you to call him Torquemada.

But thanks for showing everyone how a pious Mormon acts.😉

You’re doing a great job keeping Mormon conversion low.

BWAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Bashing Catholics. Oh, that’s rich. This thread was started because some Catholic was frustrated with how much Mormon bashing was going on here. The reply? “Mormonism is soooooooo STUPID. Do you know they believe (insert something that sounds weirder than it really is if you understand it)? And no, they’re not REALLY nice, God-fearing people. After all, they promote abortion!” Etc., etc.

So I was bopping around the internet and found this thread. I decided to point out how ridiculous and unfair some of these arguments were. I mean, the last people I want to hear a lecture about being too “pro-Choice” from are Catholics, who can’t even persuade their own people to get fewer abortions than the national average. But I guess some of you are still in denial about that.

Then I meet Majick. He seems to have been one of those Mormons who thinks that prophets must know everything that is important TO HIM, all the time, or they can’t really be prophets. I point out that Popes are supposed to be infallible about issues of faith and morals, but one of them ordered rulers of cities to torture confessions out of accused heretics. That seems to me to be more important to get right than geographical details in the Book of Mormon. Well, isn’t it?

So I’m a Catholic basher for THAT? I was merely pointing out that, yet again, you guys are throwing out arguments against the Mormons that can easily be turned back against you.

So buck up and grow a spine, Patty. If you live in a glass house, hold off on the stone-throwing.
Dude, your persecution complex is showing, big time.

You aren’t understanding Papal infallibility, or Catholic history. I suggest you read up on it before you continue making a fool of yourself.

Because the charity in this thread has shamefully declined and because there are far too many topics being discussed, this thread is now closed.

:tsktsk:

And I think a great many of you would benefit from reading up on the following guidelines for posting in NCR.
