This is a great story. See when he says that his ‘Protestant’ friends have called him no brother in Christ anymore. Didn’t a Protestant argue with me here about why I said I am not a brother in Christ with him/her and this person said that I was being unreasonable? 🤷

Beautiful conversion story. This is what I am talking about for us especially myself take my Catholic Faith for granted. But not anymore. Conversion story like this is truly inspirations to each and everyone of us to better ourself in term of our faith how we should treat others outside the Catholic Faith. Holy Spirit work in a mysterious way. May not be now or later but time will come for some to realize and see the truth. One thing for sure we never never stop praying for those who still in searching for the truth. Thank you adventistnomore for sharing the link.

You got my prayer adventistnomore. My husband himself (former Baptist) completed his journey to Catholic Faith two years ago too. Did not ask or force him too. It was his own free will. Credits all goes to the God Almighty - almost everyday I pray for his conversion not my will I pray to God but God’s will. And it is His will that lead my husband to the Catholic Church.

Heavenly Father please continue to guide all new members of your Church to the right path, and I also pray for those who are in their journey to the faith, do not lead them into temptations. Open up their heart, mind and soul so they may see the light of your truth that is in your Church. I ask this in Jesus name. AMEN!:gopray2::signofcross:
 
Hi…I just joined this site this moring and I’m new to this way of communicating. Anyway, I converted to the Seventh day Adventist Church in 1978, received a BA in theology, only to turn down a call to pastor and continue on to seminary. To make the story of a long journey short, I read The Hidden Manna by Fr. James O’Connor about a year ago and understood and embraced the Eucharist. This past month my spiritual struggle reached its deepest low, and for the past two weeks I have experienced more of God’s grace than I have in the past two decades. My wife and children are Catholic, and I am very close to making my conversion to Catholocism and plan to enroll in RCIA in my wife’s parish. Just yesterday I came across the story of David Pendleton trying to find other SDAs who converted to RC. I desire to talk with anyone with this experience. It has been the most difficult journey for me, and now, just in these past two weeks I have experienced the relief and joy of resolution. If this is not the place for me to find what I’ve described above, please direct me to a place where I can contact former SDAs who have become Catholic. Thanks!

God is good and His mercy endures forever!

Good morning, Patrick.

i became Catholic some years ago, and it was a very difficult journey for me, too. i had many opportunities to back down. none of my friends whether from my former religion or secular, thought I was doing the right thing. even my family was against it. it was very difficlt.

and I did start to turn away, but each time I did I got a confirmation somehow that there was no alternative. the Truth is the Truth, and I could no wise turn away from it even if I’m not very good, sorry to say, at following it at all times.

anyway, I saw your post here and just wanted to offer some words of encouragement in the form of a tiny piece of my own story. many have gone through this, and you will probably read some of their testimonies here. May God bless you and give you peace along your journey. it will be difficult at times, stay in prayer.

I am fortunate to have a wife who is a loving Christian and has supported my search over the years. Prayer is the necessity…God will provide!

im not surprised that he has been treated poorly by the sda…as an ex-sda myself…i understand the level of stuff he must be puttung up with…my parents were sda missionaries…and my mother was the vice-principle at an sda boarding school in missouri…i get a lot of hate from sda members because i walked away from their garbage after 18 years…but the despite is mutual…for reasons unknown, the sda considers the catholic church to be evil so a pastor changing over would be world shattering for them…lol…too funny…btw…i am a non-christian, so other than my hatred for the sda, i have no dogs in this hunt…fd

Hi Adventistnomore!!!

I was so surprised this morning when I opened my email and there was a notificationt that someone posted to this thread. This was one of the first ones I posted on just about a year ago when I came across CAF.

It is so amazing what has transpired over the past year. R.C.I.A. has been a blessing and we are nearing Easter. There are 29 of us in my R.C.I.A. class and we’ve grown close since last October.

The joy I have as I approach receiving Jesus in The Eucahrist is indescribable…but for those of you in communion, you already know!

As a former SDA converting to Catholicism, it was a time of struggle for me in which I felt very alone. I cannot begin to describe the blessing it was to meet you and the others here on CAF. You all have helped me in ways you may never know and you all live in such a special place in my heart. I feel closer to you all than to many of my relatives, and I look forward to the day when we might all be together face to face…I think about that often.

So I would like to take this opportunity to thank you, SDA2RC, MarysRoses, and Marsha Adams, for your support, friendship, words of encouragement, and especially your prayers over the past 10 months!!! I love you all very much!!!

You all have been in my prayers every day since last April,and will be in my prayers every day forward!!

I’m sorry to hear about your negative experience in the Adventist church.

From what you said above it is obvious that you understand what a “big” thing it is for an Adventist to convert to Catholicism…world shattering is a mild description to say the least.😉

So what brings you by Catholic Answers Forums? If I may be so forward to ask?😊

i was originally looking for ex-sda’s to talk with…the former sda sites i found were all still pro-sda and due to my parents standing in the sda church i am not too well liked for the positions i take vis-a-vis their current/former religion…im not rude, mind you, im just able to refute all their doctrine…i am the end result of living at one of their schools for 13 years,and perhaps they dont like the reality that this presents…i was pleasantly surprised to see all the ex-sda’s on this site…fd
