There is a message/forum area which I was pleased to see is not well-visited. I think maybe that is because the site really appears to be a “spiritual journal” about Richard Noll rather than a site for former Catholics. It’s really quite sad that someone would stray so far to conclude that his (Jesus’) life story was a gnostic myth meant to convey allegorical teachings about the divine nature within all humans."

There are many sites like this and I try to avoid them. They are fueled by people who hate the Catholic Church for some reason. Maybe it is a issue or maybe it because they feel like they failed and are lashing out. Who knows.

This must be a different Richard Noll from the one I was familiar with. I used to have a fundamentalist tape series and a book titled “Roman Catholicism: Issues and Evidences” published by John Ankerberg’s group by a Richard Noll. It was offered during the classic Walter Martin vs. Fr. Mitch Pacwa debates from the 1980s. This Richard Noll was (and still is I think) an ex-Catholic Fundy (not neo-Gnostic). Here is one of his books, must be a different Richard Noll.

That book you linked to is just awful! It seems there are two anti-Catholic Richard Nolls. It’s possible that the Richard Noll that I found is using a fake name on his site and he took the name from that book.

I think even the anti-Catholic Protestant Fundamentalists would be against this website. Pure blasphemy against ALL of Christianity. To say Jesus didn’t even exist!

I have e-mailed the site’s administrator a few times refuting some of the statements that he has made, and he will not reply or post my follow-up messages. Some of his comments are indeed anti-Catholic, and some of the strangest I have seen.

I guess the site really is just self-promotion then. It’s the web equivalent of someone who likes to hear themself speak. So sad.
