In looking at the Fort Ross site I see 2012 will be the Bicentennial. They have set up a separate website Fort Ross 200 and also that they are on Facebook at “Friends of Fort Ross State Historic Park”.

I notice in the Calendar section they say:
August 2012: Church and Cemetery
  • August 12: The “Day of Russia” – Fort Ross will commemorate the original Colony Ross dedication. The Russian Orthodox churches in the United States and Russia will hold a unified church service at the Holy Trinity Chapel at Fort Ross SHP. The Churches will also host a dedication ceremony to honor those who lived and died at Ross Colony and to dedicate the new interpretive panels to be placed at the cemetery. Fort Ross SHP will also dedicate a bench in the cemetery. Lecture and Performance Series will take place at the Presidio (August 16), the Sonoma County Museum (August 17), and at Fort Ross (August 18).
Normally the ROCOR folks make an annual pilgrimage to Fort Ross on Memorial Day and the OCA does so on Fourth of July. This combined event along with Churches from Holy Mother Russia is really very exciting and first that I’ve heard of this. So, stay tuned for more updates! 🙂

FYI due to the crisis in the CA state budget the Visitor Center and Fort Compound have been closed Mon.- Fri. 12/1/010 until 6/30.

Aramis - Maybe some of your folks will come down for this. 🙂
