The Church protects us from fake claims of such supernatural events. In this case it is clear the woman involved is lying.

On Monday the Texas diocese said the apparitions said to be of the Virgin Mary were a fabrication after video footage surfaced from the Loreto House, a pro-life center in the diocese, showing the alleged visionary dropping roses on the floor.

“According to the officials, though the woman told participants at the time that the roses were ‘a gift from Our Lady,’ in reality, she surreptitiously dropped them,” said a diocesan statement.

“After viewing the video and consulting with diocesan advisors and others, I have concluded that the Mystical Rose – Our Lady of Argyle is a fabrication and not true,” Bishop Olson wrote

I figured that was coming, given that the bishop a few weeks ago already said he didn’t encourage any Catholics in his diocese to support these apparitions, as we discussed in this locked thread.

The official website for the visionary looked extremely suspect. The visionary was claiming to be getting messages from Christ, John the Baptist, and angels as well as from Our Lady. I’m glad the bishop was able to nip this in the bud.
