yes, of course… now… who’s a father and who’s a heretic seems to be a matter of perspective… imo…
carrying us to salvation. She contains the revelation of God we need in order to make our way home to Him. That’s her only real purpose.
ok, but like we were talking about earlier, she might not be the only one carrying it…yes?.. no?.. is the ‘ark’ that we’re talking about here related the Noah story? if so, there might be some interesting similarities - and differences- we could talk about…
Thanks for the great discussion!

update… addendum… not really intending to restart this dormant thread, unless someone is really interested…
earlier somewhere on this thread I talked about Peter going to Galilee, when Jesus says to remain in Jerusalem (end of Luke)… i’ve since found that at the end of Matthew, Jesus says to tell his ‘brothers’ to go to Galilee… so Peter may have been following Jesus’ words… this might change what I was saying earlier about people following Peter… 🙂

Paul thought that (assuming he wrote Ephesians). Was Paul sent from God (an Apostle)? He spends a lot of time in Corinthians defending his apostleship, and that leads me to think that there were people back then (same time, place) that questioned his apostleship
Paul himself was a convert and was an apostle yes. As you know, Paul used to be a persecuter of Christianity until his encounter with the Risen Christ. Paul later was martyred for his beliefs, so I guess that answers your question and also provides some indirect proof that Christ has also risen. Why else would he have been so willing to convert and accept death? Surely it would had to have taken a miracle.

hi Thorns

oh yes, i accept that Jesus rose from the dead…

i think what i was talking about at the time was that in paul’s day, people (some? many?) questioned whether he was an apostle or not… these people were close to the original happenings… right on the ‘scene’, in fact… so i thought their (name removed by moderator)ut was interesting as it related to the uniformity of the early church…

grace and peace to you!
