The Daily Kos, seriously…?? Oy. So now any Republican who writes a column is a “mouthpiece”. Hmm. 🤷

When the Holy Spirit makes Judge Napolitano the Pope, then he can do things differently. I am discouraged by Pope Francis in many ways, but a “false prophet” he is not.
 
I think you’d have been better off posting the actual source opinion piece itself (foxnews.com/opinion/2015/09/24/false-prophet-why-pope-francis-has-disappointed-many-roman-catholics.html) and let people read it and decide how they feel about it (I myself have major issues with it).

But the Daily Kos opinion piece takes one man saying one phrase (“false prophet”) and “goes off the rails” itself in its efforts to somehow claim that means the entire Republican Party has “settled on a strategy of, quite literally, demonizing” the Pope.

Given Daily Kos’ role as a soldier in partisan warfare, this is an expected tactic. It’s not an honest take; it’s partisan hackery.

Would you have been discoouraged with Jesus when he at with sinners?

I believe Pope Francis is speaking from the heart but does not truly understand how bad the world is or how corrupt and contrived our economic systems are. Capitalism is not such a big problem it is credit and usury.

Pope Francis lived and worked in the slums of Buenos Aries daily. He’s seen more poverty and despair than we can imagine, and knows full well how bad the world is and corrupt some economic systems are. He has seen it personally. He speaks from both the heart and with knowledge of man’s injustice and inhumanity to man.

What we read about and can only imagine, he has worked among and fully understands.

I doubt Pope Francis has ever been poor. I have experienced it first hand. I know too well the physical and emotional scars it leaves.

Nothing can change short of Jesus Christ returning and that is suspended until all of Israel recognizes Him as Messiah.

The Church will not triumph through a gradual ascendency,but through the unleashing of evil which will cause the final upheaval of this passing world.

Of course not, but I’d be discouraged if He made me feel like a second-class citizen for trying to hold fast to His teaching in the midst of a world that hates me for it.

If that means that the Pope is not supposed to make statements and pronunciations on temporal political matters, then pretty much every Pope has gone against that mandate.

In any case, it does not surprise me. There are many Catholics who speak in similar terms about not only this Pope, but every post-VII Pope, though they have a particular hatred for Francis. Just check out blogs like Rorate Caeli or forums like Fisheaters. There are probably many people on this very forum who feel that way about him, but don’t say so for fear of being banned. There are probably even people in this thread who feel that way.
 
I have a serious question, and I’ll pose it to anyone reading this thread who is not, as yet, caught up in pure sensationalism: Does the fact that Mr. Dartagnan posted the stuff he did on “dailykos.com” give it more weight than if he had, let’s say, posted it here on the CA forums?
 
Studying the Prophets right now. Most of them were not leaders. People had a tendency to ignore whst the Prophets said. Seems like everyone is listening.

Sorry,my post was in reply to Michael. I was not criticizing Pope Francis. His intentions are good
.Personally I do not believe the UN can solve the worlds problems.It has a very poor track record especially after the genocide in Rawanda.

Thanks for the direct link. “hackery” is a good characterization of this op ed dribble. This man certainly does not speak for me. It is just distortions and statements out of context. The usual. We are all entitled to our views, but he taken his “poetic” license down the rabbit hole to see Alice.

I feel bad for any outside observers who don’t know enough to take the “whole picture in” and form their own opinions. There are way too many people out there who willingly believe everything they read, or take an opinion piece and thinks he or she speaks for the entire choir.
