UPDATE

It’s approaching one month now since the Institute had postponed the official celebrations of the Mass and all other activities where patients congregate (H1N1 scare). As noted earlier, the last time all the circumstances provided for Father Allard to concelebrate (in private) was on the feast of Christ the King, November 22nd.

This week, all activities and the Institute’s official celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass are resuming. In my opinion, Father Allard (if they prepare him on time) is still able to concelebrate.

It has been difficult to provide perfectly for his spiritual needs during that time due to priorities which require caring for my other family members (one who had to be hospitalized until roughly 10 days ago) and another who lives about 40 miles away. But on average, during this time, Father Allard received Holy Communion 5 or more days per week. What he is living redefines St. Paul’s words for me, “patient endurance” .

There is reason to hope, with the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass restored at the Institute. It could be as early as today, or Thursday that Father Allard concelebrates his next Mass.
