We love you Fr. Allard! You are a priest forever and ever! Amen!

Maronite Priest Prayer for Priests (Fr. Allard)

Remain in peace, O holy altar, in peace I will return to thee. May the Victim who has been offered upon thee be for the forgiveness of by sins and the pardon of mine offenses ; may it enable me to hold myself without stain or shame before the throne of Christ. Yet I do not know if I shall live to return and assist again at the holy Sacrifice. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost, one God, who is the beginning and end of all things. Amen.

I thank you for the update, and for all those who pray for Fr. Allard.
Fr. Allard remains in my heart and prayers.

Grant him an increase of grace and strength, and above all, love! ]

… However tomorrow - Saturday January 23, 2010 we are planning to attempt to have Father Allard preside at a Mass to be offered for the holy souls in Purgatory.

Although he was not as much “in form” as the previous day,Father Allard did indeed privately celebrate / preside at the Mass on January 23rd , successfully as we’d hoped. Degree of difficulty was extreme though. The choice is always left up to him. There are a few factors at work now:
  • He is out of the routine of presiding.
  • He is physically weaker.
  • He has experiences marked dificulty consuming the Sacred Species
.

After the Mass had concluded he told me, " I don’t think I will do that (preside) again" . He was not remarking on his preference but rather how difficult it is for him to preside in his present condition. It took everything he had (and then a little).

🙂

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,

and at the hour of our death.

AMEN

A PRAYER FOR PRIESTS
By the late John J Cardinal Carberry

Keep them; I pray Thee, dearest Lord.
Keep them, for they are Thine
The priests whose lives burn out before
Thy consecrated shrine.
Keep them, for they are in the world,
Though from the world apart.
When earthly pleasures tempt, allure –
Shelter them in Thy heart.
Keep them and comfort them in hours
Of loneliness and pain,
When all their life of sacrifice
For souls seems but in vain.
Keep them and remember, Lord,
they have no one but Thee.
Yet, they have only human hearts,
With human frailty.
Keep them as spotless as the Host,
That daily they caress;
Their every thought and word and deed,
Deign, dearest Lord, to bless.
Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

St. Gabriel, Side54, Tarek, and Easter1 your prayers are very much welcomed. I appreciate each one of you, including NeedImprovement, and all those who post their prayers here! I’m edified to turn to God and fully open my heart to Him, when I see people posting their prayers. Fr. Allard’s brother is reading our prayers here. 👋 God bless him, too.

May the Lord grant Fr. Allard an increase of grace and strength, and above all love.

UPDATE

Father Allard has been successfully concelebrating the Holy Sacrifice on Tuesdays , Thursdays and Sundays up to and including yesterday - February 7,2010. But recently, it has been a silent concelebration. His illnesses seemed to have gained some more ground.

I’m not at liberty to give out too many facts, but this time is particularly difficult for his brother, who is left with making the decisions re. Father Allard’s treatment options. Please remember him also in your prayers.

It is even more difficult than usual for Father Allard to take food or drink lately.

It’s one of those periods where we’re left squinting looking for the bright spots. One bright spot that has shown up, is the fact that on the days I go to see him to bring him Holy Communion we can talk for up to an hour sometimes…usually about what needs rectifying within the Church. Because he isn’t able to speak very much, and even this practically inaudibly, I end up doing the majority of the talking (my mother used to tell me I never had problem in this area) and I’ll look to see what his facial expressions/reactions will be – sometimes a frown, sometimes a nod, sometimes some rarely intelligible speech … but my favorite by far is when if I can get him to smile or laugh (like a ray of sunshine peeking out from behind a face well-weathered by the spiritual war and by victimhood).

Sometimes “*Thy will be done” * doesn’t quite roll off the tongue the way it’s supposed to. 🙂

Hail Mary,
full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now
and at the hour of our death.

Amen

Father Allard completed another successful week of concelebrations. Most notable of these would be yesterday- Sunday , February 14th , 2010 . He was blessed with enough of a voice to audibly say his part of Eucharistic Prayer IV (in french) . It came out nice and clear. Our prayers are sustaining him.

Thanks for each one.
