Fr Andrew Greeley: visionary?

Reading the comments of Father Greeley [who died today] suggests to me that he was a priest well ahead of his time. For a Lutheran, Greeley was a breath of fresh air on his views of women’s ordination, divorce, sexual abuse, etc. Outspoken, Greeley described himself as a “loud-mouthed Irish priest.” Rest in peace, dear father Greeley.

Any thoughts?

I am sorry for Andrew Greeley’s family and friends. However, his support for the pro-death Obama and the corrupt Chicago machine was gravely sinful. May God forgive him.

There are times when one must choose between fashionable liberalism and God. Make the right choice, my Lutheran friend.

I read one of Fr. Greeley’s books and that was enough for this devout Catholic. I cannot see how he could write such things.
May God have mercy on his soul. And may his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.
