I watched Devotions as I always do, and when I heard Father Collins homily I clenched my fist and said, “yes, finally”, a priest on EWTN had the courage to speak out on what has gone terribly wrong with our church since Vatican ll. Hopefully he is right, and we can find our way back home again.
**Bravo, Father Collins
God Bless you
**

That was goodwhat did he say??} but it ended unfinished…
here’s an ending
We need to get the Traditional Tridentine Immemorial Latin Mass back to all of our Holy Catholic Altars. We need to put the SUMMA Theoligica into seminairians’ hands. We need to excommunicate liberal Catholics. We need to be Catholics and not stand down in the face of the modern world!

THANK YOU, FR. COLLINS!!!
This homily explained everything I felt when I returned after a 30 year absence. EVERYTHING – from the tabernacle being removed from the altar (that was my first shock), to the removal of the Communion rail, to receiving the Host in the hand. I still don’t see the reason for removing the Communion rail. There was no confusion then about do you kneel, genuflect, bow, receive on the tongue or in the hand. I could go on and on from my own experience, but Fr. Collins covered it ALL. I see so much confusion, it makes me sad. I know I’m confused about the state of things and miss the Church he talked about in his homily. That was the one I left. When I returned, it was gone. SAD!

That was great.

I’ve seen Fr. Collins’ show “Does The Church Still Teach That?” but don’t know much about him outside of that, I’d be interested to learn more about him if anyone has information.

Another thumbs up for Father’s homily! Wow, thanks for posting the link!

Oh, how I wish we had more priests and and nuns like those on EWTN!!! I mentioned to my confessor that EWTN helped me want to go back to church…he said, “oh that’s not good!” I could not believe it and now I realize why I don’t feel comfortable in that church!
There is no reverence! Thank you, Fr. Collins!!!

Do the Fathers of Mercy celebrate Mass exclusivley in Latin?

Father Collins celebrated the Mass once on EWTN. The Mass on EWTN is a combination of coarse in English and Latin. So, I doubt they use Latin only.
