So says Bill & Ted?
OK, but homosexual acts are wrong regardless of whether a contraceptive device is used. The wrongness is based on more than the lack of fertility.
If man takes a wife he is to give himself to her, and when a woman takes as husband she is to give himself to her. If this giving only occurs in cycles, well I guess they just fall in and out of love based on a chart.
The giving occurs during each unaltered act. If they do not have a serious reason then they would be selfish, but the actions are not contraceptive.
I understand this is a summary of the church position but ovulation suppression does not alter intercourse, and think you mean to include it?
It does alter the act.
Similarly excluded is any action which either before, at the moment of, or after sexual intercourse, is specifically intended to prevent procreation—whether as an end or as a means. (16)

The other point that Father Euteneuer makes regarding why the abortion industry needs contraception is this one:
Secondly, all methods of contraception fail to prevent pregnancy a certain percentage of the time either through flaws in the method or through misuse. People have been so indoctrinated with the “safe sex” message that the potential for contraceptive failure is never even considered—until it happens of course—and then, faced with a crisis, people turn to quick fix solutions to escape the problem that was created by contraception in the first place. According to the Guttmacher Association, an affiliate of Planned Parenthood, close to 60% of all women going into abortion mills do so because their contraception has failed. In other words, they are using abortion as a back-up to failed contraception.
Planned Parenthood (whose research arm is called the Guttmacher Institute) could do the young women who come to them for help a great service if they would translate this document into plain english and make sure every one of the women understands what it says before they leave their “clinics”:

(If anyone can find better links about contraceptive failure I would be interested, as I realize this one is not the greatest.)

Pax tecum!

Planned Parenthood is not in the habit of telling the truth. In the Supreme Court hearings on PB abortion, a woman from PP was asked if they tell the women about the procedure before it is performed. The answer? No, because it would upset them. When asked if the offer anesthetic for the child, the answer was also no, because then they would have to explain WHY they were offering anesthetic. No, PP is not a fan of truth.

Agreed, but knowing this, it seems to me it is up to us to hold their feet to the fire a bit.

Basically we can do this by exposing and publicizing the fact that they do conceal important truths all the time.

We can start with our own families and friends, who frequently vote for politicians who in turn vote for legislation that benefits Planned Parenthood.

When that fails (as it has so far in my family) we can educate our fellow parishioners, many of whom frequently vote for politicians who in turn vote for legislation that benefits Planned Parenthood.

And we can also just directly join or start a local group who prays outside Planned Parenthood “clinics” and offer leaflets with this information printed upon it to the young women and men who go in and out of Planned Parenthood’s doors, free speech being what it is.

Looking at it this way it is an opportunity to share important information rather than a sad demoralizing state of affairs. I realize it’s not easy - and I don’t do enough myself - but it’s important for us not to get down.
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Phillipians 4:8
Remember, Paul wrote this from prison. 👍

Is NFP Just Catholic Birth Control?

hli.org/sl_2007-04-13.html

Hello HLI Friends,

Our mini-catechesis on contraception this week continues on the topic of why the gift of Natural Family Planning is not tantamount to “Catholic birth control.” This is a common misconception about the practice, and it is good to hear the Church’s actual teaching on the matter! You may access the written script of this video on the side bar and, after viewing, please feel free to forward this email to others.

Blessings to you and your families!

Sincerely,
