Christ is ascended!
In his Light of the East radio program #348 from May 24, 2011 Father Loya talks about our Russian Byzantine Catholic Church and the other ECCs which have no bishops- the Belarusian, Albanian and Georgian Greek Catholic Churches.
He mentions also visiting my church where he concelebrated with Fr. Eugene and Fr. Vito 5/15.
In his St. Thomas Sunday April 26 program his co-host Katie read through a list of ECCs and OCCs from materials from Fr. Ronald Roberson. The list does not include us Russians nor the three other ECCs who have no hierarchs.
I wrote Father Tom to point this out and sent him some info about us, and reminded him that although we are very tiny in number we are robust in faith and not to be forgotten! I’m grateful he took the time to focus on our Eastern Catholic Churches without Bishops during this radio program.
We were so happy he was able to fit in the visit to our little parish, a treat for all of us! His driver Ed had to navigate SF on probably the hardest day all year to drive here, when we have a huge “Bay to Breakers” run the goes from the eastern most end of SF the entire width of The City out to the Pacific Ocean. That plus how hard it is to find parking at my parish made us especially glad they made it for Liturgy and stayed for our Agape!
