I was going to post this video too! The man is my hero. He’s truly a Saint and I hope he will be canonized soon…

HailMary, could you clarify for me–is this the voice of Fr. Ragheed?

Is this a liturgical hymn, or what I call (for lack of a better name) a spiritual? (The Ruthenians and Ukrainians have hundreds.)

Holy new hieromartyr Ragheed, pray to God for us!

I cannot say yet if this is indeed his actual voice, but according to the description on the website, it claims it is. I will check with Fr. Andy on this and get back to you.

About the nature of the hymn, I am not sure.
 
And, could we somehow be provided with an English translation? (I forgot to ask that. 😦 )

The hymn translated in English is:

We honor you with hymns O Mother of God, you are the pride of the whole earth, because the Word of God whom the Father sent, chose to take His human body from you. The generations call you blessed, all nations and people’s honor you and ask for mercy by your prayers. You are a generous earth in which plants of joy always grow

This is nothing short of amazing! Thank you for sharing it. It brought tears to my eyes. Prayers to the holy martyr, Father Ragheed and his three martyred subdeacons!

Someone should write an icon of these Holy Martyrs.

I was so inspired by listening to him sing to the Theotokos this morning, I added products with his image to my store.%between%

Does anyone know if a public cult has begun for these men? We should try to get the message out on them to inspire our many brothers and sisters who suffer under Muslim extremist terror.

I agree wholeheartedly! I truly love this man, and he is a great example of a modern-day martyr. I hope a case for his Sainthood will be opened soon. I ask for his intercession daily for the conversion of my family (protestants) and the conversions of Muslims. I keep praying for miracles.

We should start a following though.

Great idea. I think the place to start is with the Chaldean Catholics that are based here in the US. I need to find out how to get in touch with them, however.

I also have a friend who is an iconographer. It might well be worth exploring an icon of father and his three companions.

The image that I put together for my store could be the graphic we use for the homepage. I set up www.catholicchurchgeek.com through Yahoo for a few bucks a month. It would not be difficult to get this started.

I will create a graphic with the wonderful quote on the Eucharist as well. This man was truly a theologian - he lived his theology!

Also, just as a point to clarify in case there was any doubt as to my intentions, I have set all items related to Fr. Ragheed at my store to be sold at cost. I have no desire to profit in any way because of this holy man’s death - only to help him and his companions to become better known and loved for their courageous sacrifice!
