You know there are places where people have no choice. They CANNOT parish hop because there’s only one parish. They cannot complain because there is just one place to go to Mass.

My how parish hoppers would suffer in such an atmosphere. I live in such an atmosphere and I have learned SO MUCH in the last year. Having to stay, having to work things out, having to be humble has been such a grace. 🙂 God is good and He can work through imperfect liturgy. 🙂
 
We used to go to sock hops, now we parish hop! :egyptian:

This is so very true. Yes, a liturgy should be free from true abuses, but it isn’t always going to be sublime. I think sometimes we unsettle ourselves, making ourselves discontented and unhappy by chasing after the “perfect” Mass.

Those of us in areas that have choices may perhaps think to offer up attending our “adequate” local Mass and give that time and money that would normally go into driving across town for the “better” liturgy to a fund for seminarian education in our diocese.
 
It seems to me that there is more abuse at CAF with all the claims of liturgical abuse than there are real cases of abuse. We abuse abuse. :doh2:
 
I would hope that before we “hop” that one would address the reasons for “hopping” through proper channels in the church. It may be frustrating and challenging to do this but probably well worth the effort if positive transformation occurs. I heard mentioned that if you are looking for a better pastor, pray for the one you already have.
