The 30-minute documentary is shortlisted for Best Documentary, Short Subject. It profiles an obsessive young man from Toronto who, through the power of the Internet, manages to entangle himself in one of America’s most high-profile police shooting cases.

On April 4, 2015, Walter Scott, an unarmed black man, was fatally shot in the back while running away from Michael Slager, a white police officer, in Charleston, S.C. A bystander recorded the incident . . .

Frame 394 follows Daniel as he navigates what may be the biggest decision of his life — whether or not to become an expert witness for the defence in Michael Slager’s trial.

somehow I missed this police shooting.
the first trial ended in a mistrial.
it is sad that the officer became a father while in jail.
from the video, the subject is running away and doesn’t seem to pose a threat. I am not sure why he had to fire his weapon so many times.
an interesting short documentary.
the officer faces another trial and other charges I believe.
this video seems to prove that officers need better training. both the victim and the officer used poor judgment I think.
